You obviously haven't met my wife. She strips the thing down to its individual parts washes it all and leaves it to me to re-assemble.

I love this thread because it is so similar to the threads regarding tow vehicles. The best coffee pot I have are the ones I own and the best TV is the one I use to tow my AS with.

If you don't believe me just ask me.

After having a few people rave to me about the Aeropress, I got one.

Fail.

It makes weak coffee, which is not allowed in our Airstream or house.

We use Aeropress for Strong coffee....

First you have to start with fresh ground beans...or grind them at the store on the 'fine' setting...

We use only French Roast beans... Two scoops... Add 175 degree water... Mix with paddle for 20 count... Then press directly into cup... Add more hot water to cup till full....

If you use large mugs, start with more coffee in the press till you get 'your' perfect brew...

We've used ours for years to brew strong, black 'Cafe American'...

I've tried numerous options for coffee onboard our Airstream, including a French press and have settled on a solution I thought I would never consider: instant coffee, specifically, Starbucks instant. It is as good as any fresh brewed coffee with the easiest cleanup imaginable. I would recommend purchasing at Costco as opposed Starbucks, it is probably half the price. The only thing to clean is a mug and possibly a spoon. You also avoid the "sludge" at the bottom of the mug that is common with a French press.

Does ProPride make a coffee maker? :-)

I just switched from a 15" ST coffee maker to a Michelin LTX 16" coffee maker... My coffee is now smoother, and safer.

Ok - sorry everyone. Didn't mean to get off track with the ProPride gag.

The obvious answer is Keurig.

:-)

(Just kidding! )

Funny! Don't even go down the hitch or TV road. I was a French press user until I had a catastrophe while cleaning it. I still can't believe I got wet coffee grounds all over the inside of my Ocean Breeze and still sweep them up on occasion. Between boondocking and my spaz cleaning hands, Chemex works best for me. When I have power, I am a Nespresso girl, in the aluminum finish of course. Must be because I tow with a MBZ.

I hear ya. I have a cheapie cappuccino maker which pressurizes for the steaming milk foam process. I finished making the cappuccino and without letting it sit, pulled the coffee ground handle out and KABLOOM! Coffee grounds all over the kitchen! What a mess! :-)
