My wife has a blender that was my mothers. Its really old. Has a bunch of speeds. Its bowl is glass. I rescued it by replacing the gaskets and such. She keeps it in the Airsteam all the time. She makes a smoothie everyday at home and on the road.
I don't have a complete list of ingredients but it goes something like this.
1 banana
milk
Instant Breakfast/French vanilla
Instant coffee or a cup of fresh brewed
2 eggs
not sure if thats all
This is her breakfast and lunch that seems to hold her till supper.\
Sorry I got carried away and off subject. Its not a single serve blender.

These are all great! Keep them coming! I have recently come to grips with the realities of middle age and my diet. Big changes in the way I cook and what I eat. All these tips help!

I'll second Mikethefixit's ancient blender. "They don't make 'em like they used to!" From the starburst patterns on the front, I think my Osterizer is about my age (I'm a mid-60s model.) I got it for $5 without the lid at a garage sale just after I bought my first house, and ended up spending more than double that to get a new lid and the clear hard-plastic handle that fits in the center of the lid. It was a great sub-$20 investment, though, because I've been using it for about 18 years now and it's still going strong, and quieter than the plastic disposable ones you find at most stores now!

Due mainly to size constraints, we bought Lucy one of the 'Magic Bullet' mini blenders. We didn't think that we would use it much, but it turns out we use several times a day. We like its size and convenience. Plus, the cup you blend in, you also drink from. As I don't particularly care for washing dishes, this is a big plus. The 'Magic Bullet' rides in the corner of Lucy's counter all the time.

Now with this thread, I have a bunch more drinks and concoctions to try out.

Just tried this, definitely will be pre-peeling before freezing next time. BUT doing this means I should be able to buy the bargain bananas at the store
