DOG
[Dutch Oven Gathering]
Sept. 24, 2011
Jim & Regina
272 Very Old Barton Trail
Dandridge, TN 37725
865-803-3963

We are having a DOG [Dutch Oven Gathering] at our house. We live on Douglas Lake. We have room for your camper [ no electric just water] if you want to come for the weekend. The main cooking will be on Saturday, eat at 6 PM. Bring your Dutch Oven and come out and join the fun . Swimming, boating, camping and a big campfire to sit by and relax after a great meal prepared in a Dutch Oven.

Let us know if you are planning to come to our DOG

Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs, utensils and something to drink.

Our dog does not play well with others so you might want to leave your dog at home.

Directions [Some GPS are wrong]

On I -40 take Exit 417 to Dandridge, TN. Turn south on 92 [at bottom of ramp]. Follow 92 over big green bridge. Go about 7 miles to Indian Creek Road [also 363] and turn left. Go less than 1 mile to Sandy Ridge Road and turn left. Go about 1/2 mile to Stillhouse Road [just past white picket fence on your left] and turn right. Go to first road on your right at bottom of steep hill. Turn onto Very Old Barton Trail and follow to our house. We have all the huge rocks at our driveway. Turn right and follow gravel drive to your right. This will take you to our cooking area.

The DOG sounds like great fun and eats, wish we could make it, maybe next year.

This is from Labor Day at Oconee SP in SC. Not a fancy setup, not really great pics, but we set up our tripod and 11 qt camp Dutch Oven for bean soup and cornbread one night and then Frogmore stew the next night.

Working on Crazy Certification, one more notch in the membership card.

All of my Dutchstream - DOG - Rallies are open to the general public. The DOG [Dutch Oven Gathering] part of it is for new and old people that cook with cast iron. . We arrived yesterday with 2 other units. had a great time sitting around shooting the bull. Today looks like another beautiful day. We will be going to Bush's Bean company for a tour of their interacting our museum. Then to the cafe for lunch. We are talking about going to Clint's BBQ for super and music. Clint's burnt to the ground last fall and now is brand new and doing every good. I hope to see more come in tonight.

We had a great time and it was a perfect place to break Bertie in! Our SOB friends and their kids loved the local go-carts, fun, and shopping. My husband and I enjoyed the excellent views, and we all loved the good food and conversation. Thanks to Jim and Regina for the door prizes. We put each one in our AS and are sure to use them. I have to say that I am envious of the cool raffle prizes! And Frank, I think you're pretty fun too!
