Revereware Percolator on eBay

I was looking for a percolator for the new AS and ran across this. I put in a bid for what I would consider a reasonable amount for a vintage Revereware coffee pot. There was a bidding war (which I didn't participate in) and the winner ended up paying $77.00 for it! Unbelievable!

Chemex! They're pretty cool too. I may just end up to going to a Mellita.

By the way - is that a '52 Ford in your profile pic?

I also noticed your were from Western NY. I was born and raised in the Finger Lakes.

Jim,

Believe it or not we've used that Chemex in both our Stream's, over 25yrs.

Sure makes great coffee.

Can you say Sampson State Park, Seneca Lake. Been dog showing there

for many years.

Don't have an Airstream (yet), but have decades of tent camping under my belt. I use an inexpensive French press from BB&B and the coffee is so good, sometimes I use it at home instead of my way-too-expensive automatic coffee maker from Williams Sonoma. The key is always quality of beans.

Yup - I can say Sampson State Park and Seneca Lake - I even know how to pronounce Canandaigua and Skaneateles.

Actually, I grew up on Seneca Lake. I love New York but I couldn't ever move back there. Winters are too cold and the taxes are to high. However, in a couple of years we plan to spend the summer there with the AS.

We use a french press when we are dry camping and a pod machine when we have electricity. The pod machine is easy to make and clean-up but nothing beats a french press, imho, for good tasting coffee.

Our Chemex is going to live in the AS. It makes good coffee, but the thing is so dang cool looking.

It sure seems that there is a pattern here on the type of maker; percolator seems to be up front not far behind french press, but most important which coffee brand are folks using? Buying beans or grounds?
