Check out this Alton Brown Video: YouTube - Good Eats S7E2P2: Q

Also, if you get in about halfway, Alton ducks into his Airstream for supplies.

Oh My GOODNESS!!!! Thank you! I am a total foodie and can't believe I've never encountered this. The bottom looks like a standard pot but I'm not so sure of the top ...is this a kit? I love the fact that he's in an airstream and am digging the spice cabinet...was that custom? Thanks for the vid wswingfield

The top is another standard pot, just a shallow one.

soldiermedic is probably the best known forum "pot smoker." I've sampled his smoked food and certainly recommend the process. Photos of him at work with his smoker at: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f484...tml#post891789. On revisiting that thread, there is a link (http://www.naffziger.net/blog/2008/0...er-pot-smoker/) to a page with instructions and Q&A.

Sent from my iPhone using AIR Forums

I just welded an extension on the back of my vintage 64 overlander. I made a small deck so I can stand next to it, but we usually just keep the cooler there when we travel. The great part about the extra weight in the back is that it takes some of the weight off the tongue.

Should I say I'm joking now, or let a couple heart attacks free up some more airstreams for the rest of us?

Actually I use a webber grill with meat thermometer and smokenator. It works wonderfully. I have to check it once an hour or 2, but other than that, It's very simple to maintain the right temp. I have smoked a ton of meats that way, including times when it was freezing outside. I'll probably just take the legs off it, and put it in the back of the truck when we go camping.

I know they make a smaller version for RV use. Check their web site.
