Your packing/stocking checklist?

I am sure I have seen some good ones on Airforums before but can't seem to find them today. It would be fun and interesting to see checklists and packing lists that people use for weekending, longer trips, etc. We are excited to be getting our Globetrotter ready for some summer fun with our 2 and 6 year old boys. It seems like it will be fun to get the Airstream all stocked up with useful/fun/necessary/helpful items. Anyone willing to share ideas?

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Sometimes searching these Forums is better done through a Google search. I just Googled 'packing your airstream' and came up with two very appropriate Forums threads right at the top of the list.

One of our favorites is a cordless drill for the stabilizers.

Good lick and safe travels.

Traveling with our two granddaughters have tought us to pack something for in the truck such as D.V.D player and head phones, books to read and to color. Then take alone their bikes or something to play with when camped. We did 4000 miles last summer and plan on doing about the same this summer. We also have our trip will planned out with interesting thing to do and see for their age. Have fun and enjoy your childern and it is OK to be a little childest yourselves. This will be our second "Summer Adventure". P.S. STOP OFTEN.
Have a great Adventure! dghaas WBCCI # 9279

Our daughters did a cross-country trip from CA to Vermont with their grandparents when they were 8 and 10. It still amazes me how much they remember and treasure of their visits to Mt. Rushmore, Washington DC, Hershey Park, Gettysburg (on the 4th of July!) and on to Vermont.
The essentials for them included info. on the sights they would be seeing, plotting the trip on maps, and learning the capitals etc. of every state they went through. They also had those little bean-bag lap-top desks they could write and color on, and they each kept a journal.
That trip was a one of those remember-forever experiences, and as adults, they still love to read the journals, and to look at the scrapbook and photos of their amazing adventure. As dghaas says, it really did help to STOP OFTEN, and that everyone was in adventure-play mode.
Your children are so lucky to have parents who want to get them out there in such a safe and comfy way.
Have a wonderful time!

I keep a fairly standard list of things to do or stock on a PDA. It helps avoid nasty surprises. (If I remember the PDA)
As you’ve undoubtedly found out, the GlobeTrotter is a bit short on storage.
Aside from the usual array of clothing, hoses, water filters, cords, tools etc. We’ve also added a few things not on most people’s list.
Small portable waffle iron, thick aluminum griddle and a smoothie maker. Look for the small bottles of add water, shake up, pancake batter. The kids will like making their own waffles.
The smoothie maker is really just a mini food processor/blender. A handy multi taker for a small space. Find a griddle that just fits across two of the stove burners. We store it in the oven and can use it inside, or out on a fire.
One thing we don’t pack a lot of is food. My wife loves to check out the local grocery stores. Fresh local foods and different brands can make the meals more spontaneous and interesting than eating the same stuff you get at home.
We also have a couple of unopened movies stashed in an overhead. You never know when the weather might turn bad and you need to spend a day inside.
Just some of our quirks. Maybe one will work for you.

Tom.
