You might be restoring an Airstream if...

... that shiny thing you got for your anniversary was a Cyclo!

You have pieces of aluminum, electrical parts, plumbing parts, cabinet parts and who knows what it is laying all over because you can't concentrate on just one thing!!

You think restoring an Airstream and parking in the garage are mutually exclusive.

InsideOut's shower comment got me thinking....

Here is my take on it...

You might be restoring an Airstream if....

You get a certain satisfacton in watching the slurry mixture of Nuvite and oxidization as it washes off your skin and hair in the shower and swirls down the drain!

My GF has a great line everytime I do polishing..
I normally turn up at home and she looks at my face and says..
"Oh, Honey......"

B.o.a.t.

. . . you think maintaining your vintage wooden boat is relatively inexpensive.

Sigh. Big sigh.

Your wife is sick and tired of you spending all your time working on the Airstream. She wishes you were having an affair. She is thinking about divorce. My wife is not to that point but she is tired of Airstream this and that. Between fixing the Airstream and tornado damage it has been a rough year. Now if we just had a full time baby sitter.

Now I don't care WHO you are, that is just down right funny!!! And, well, maybe just a little bit true? Thanks MacC.

… you long for the project to be complete, yet continually look for things you can add to the project.

This!!! A thousand times this, every time I step foot in the door.

If every Christmas, birthday, and Mother's Day (in my case) present for the last 6 years has been related to your latest project!

...if you begin to worry a bit about what you'll do to be able to continue to putter in the Airstream after all the "must do" items are finished.

You may be restoring an Airstream if . . . .

The FexEx delivery man, recognizing the sender from the return address, drops off the delivery package out to the barn / shed rather than to the house . . . .

You realize the FedEx man has stayed at your house nearly 30 minutes looking at everything around & about the Airstream and asking tons of questions . . . .

The FedEx man drops by, with no package to deliver to me, saying he "just wanted to check on my progress" . . . .

I'm thinking Aluminitus may have struck again?

You Google/street view your house and there is a picture of you in your driveway in front of your Airstream with your arms full of supplies you just purchased for your current restoration project. After seeing this picture my wife and kids now tease me that my ALUMINITUS has been confirmed.
