You might be restoring an airstream if...
...if you have a 40 yr old Dometic fridge hooked up to 110 and a propane bottle, and half full of beer....but it is in your garage for "extended testing."

I'm pretty sure that might qualify for the "you might be a redneck" category as well.

You spent 2 hours walking around Home Depot/Lowes looking at stuff.... and not for one second did you think about the house you live in!

Though you have NO mechanical skills, you read the forum for HOURS, so you can question your husband on every repair he makes.

You spent the last 20 minutes reading all these posts while waiting for daylight to come so you can go work on the AS..

You might be restoring an Airstream
If your wife made you put in a separate shower to use after polishing

If you can't function at work because you're to busy dreaming of the next thing to install! You spend all off your breaks at work searching everything airstream on line. You have to remind yourself on the way home everyday to say hello to the family before starting work on the shiny thing in the driveway!

You might be restoring an Airstream if you give your wife/sweetheart a rock guard for Valentine's Day because it sounds sort of jewelry-related.

Only on your breaks? Pft, come on, you can admit the truth. All day long. We're a support group, man. We're here for you. Unless 6:30 to 7am at work counts as a break for me, then I'm guilty.

… the folks at Tocoma Screw (hardware) know you on a first name basis and insist you bring your Airstream by for show-and-tell.
… your extended family think you died, since you don’t answer your phone and haven’t returned their phone calls.
… your priorities are completely upside down; the things that are most important in life seem to have been forgotten.
… you’ve spent more money on tools in the last year than all other years combined, saying nothing about all the money spent on supplies.
… you are shocked at your bank statement and have to analyze it before the great awakening as to where all that money went. You learn the real lesson of being two-bitted to death!
… you forgot how to relax, and can’t sit still when you have as little as 15 minutes of free time, because there’s got to be something you can do without busting out all those tools.
… you long for the project to be complete, yet continually look for things you can add to the project.
… you have so many ‘favorites’ in your web browse that you can’t remember which gets you to the part you are looking for
… you know exactly how much the price of supplies have gone up, because you had to return to get some more of that, and the price you paid last time was burned into your mind.

... you have to get a big box to store all the receipts of supplies you bought, and it takes you hours to tally them up so you can tell how much the project has costs to date.
... you realize the project is a labor of love, because there is no way you can recover your cost. So you start telling everyone how much you've learned and how you can use those skills the rest of your life instead of telling them how you can sell once the project is complete and recover the cost of investment.

... the UPS man knows you by name and offers words of encouragement when he finds you looking down trodden and covered in aluminum-oxide, polishing residue.
... you sneak home when you know your wife is away to launder polishing towels and lambs-wool bonnets.
... you find yourself attributing all your restoration purchases to "Animal Humane Society" in your check register.

...you consider every camping trip a shakedown cruise so that you can figure out what needs to be worked on next.
...you are eager to get home after a camping trip so that you can begin to work on that next thing.

People ask if the gloves you wear year-round are Isotoners and you reply, caulk.

...you are considering changing out your white shower for a black one to hide the tell-tale signs of polishing
...you know to take your polishing rags to the laundromat rather than use your own washer
...you have thousands of rivet stems & heads littering your backyard work area

Along those lines,
...you find rivet heads inside your shoes, sawdust in your socks, and polish on your ankles, even though you were wearing long pants the whole time.

Yep, Chaos, had those too!
...you find black POR-15 handprints on your hips, even though you were wearing two layers of clothes
...you ask your friends to borrow a 1/4 cup of rivets instead of sugar
