If you wanted to be left alone I suspect I know how--a prominently displayed "FORGET THE DOG, BEWARE OF OWNER" sign. You can also get them embellished with a handgun or tactical rifle. They are available on ebay

OMG, HawkinGal- that is hilarious! My former neighbor used to have a photo of his hybrid wolf snarling just under the door bell with the Saying "sure you want to ring that?"

I have always loved the Airstreams, and grew up with one. I also tinkered with several old cars including a 1951 Desoto Custom Classic (BIG car) and a 1960 Nash Metropolitan (TINY car) and enjoyed when others asked about them. I can't wait to get Betty, our 1980 International, out on the road because I enjoy 1. Talking, 2. Educating and 3. Meeting others from around the country. My husband, however, enjoys 1. Me Not Talking and 2. Notre Dame Football.

And yes, I would have LOVED to have found a tiny Airstream to pull with the DeSoto, but no such luck...

Vintage cool

My cousin (who "found" and talked me into buying our Bambi II) told me vintage Airstreams are not for introverts. I have to admit the thumbs up's on the road are cool and the campsite does tend to attract curious admirers. I enjoy showing off the trailer because I think vintage stuff is cool and because I am proud of all the work I have done to restore her to her former glory (and maybe even improve a few things here or there).
The only other thing I have owned that attracted this much attention was a mahogany 1960 Chris Craft ski boat.

With a recent model - we get asked:
"they still make those?"
and
"how much does a new one run?" :-|

Just the other day at a campground in NYS someone asked me " Is that an original Airstream". Not sure just what he meant by that. I don't think they made any fakes.
