Winter is Over!!!
What a weekend, the 54 is out of storage and the 59 is hooked up and ready to go south for the first trip of the year. I'm going to camp at the Mid American Truck Show and work all while using the 59. God I love my Airstream!!!
I didn't even have to use the snow blower to get the trailer out!11

Richard,
You know what winter is, it is that time of the year when AZ is an hour ahead of the Pacific Coast the the daylight hours are less.

hi i know winter is over when i look out at the blooming daffodils, the bradford pear trees in full bloom, the forsythias in their wonderful yellow bloom, the redbuds starting to bloom...........ain't spring great !!!!!!!
now off to check the battery, tires, hitch etc......Ain't camping fun!!!!!!
we used a tent at one time camping across the u.s. and canada. when the kids were young it seemed to be fun but somehow the
airstream is so much cozier the older we get. this is the life.

Its a gas powered shovel for us old guys who don't want to shovel snow. (I'll get a step ahead of you: Snow is frozen water that is white, falls from the sky and in amounts that require a snow blower for removal.)

Not all of us are happy to see winter come to an end. I know there are not many of us, but I hate to see it go. I've had a lot of great skiing days this season, now it's on to my bike.

I cleaned out the greenhouse yesterday in preparation to plant seeds for the garden and get them started. Then, I aired out my Airstream and sorted through everything in storage to get ready for this camping season.
I have been "itching" to get on the road and go camping.

WOW!!! Thats amazing, and you say that you have to shovel this white stuff, and that you can't work on your Airstream when it's there. I don't understand not being able to work on the AS. What would my wife do if I was unable to get out of her hair!! WOW!!

Being a part of the rust belt frozen tundra midwest, I've learned long ago that a number of nice days do not a spring make. We've had 'em before followed by snow, bitter cold, etc, as late as early May.
Once we don't get below 40 degrees (at night) for about 3 straight weeks, I start to consider de-winterizing.
Cabin fever is terrible, but what is worse is replacing plumbing fixtures and lines.

Ed,
Got it, snow must be the stuff which turns the local mountains white after the liquid sunshine falls from the sky, down here near the ocean, during the winter.

Two weeks ago we had three inches of snow...on March 1st! Two days later we had mid-70's for two days and then back to the mid-50's. The weekend that followed was in the mid-70's with plenty of sunshine and we had low 80's in the middle of last week through the middle of the week. By this weekend we had rain and mid-50's. Tomorrow will be mid-70's again.
The only thing this yo-yo weather has done for me, really, is to up the pollen count and crank up my allergies!
Glad spring is here!

Spring means cutting wood to burn for the next winter (maybe next week), then taking handfuls of ibuprofen after I hurt my back cutting wood. It means mud so gooey it takes 20 minutes to clean the soles on my work boots (makes great adobe). It means sneezing and itchy eyes. It means dragging hoses around to water trees than we planted that don't belong in the high desert. It may even last more than a few days and we either directly go to winter or summer next.
But it also means working on the Safari and getting out of town in about a month. That's something to look forward to.
