Why a twin over queen??

I hope I'm posting in the right place, we have not yet purchased but are looking hard my question is why do some choose a twin setup over the queen, is it an age thing or related to storage / room, personal choice or just what is everyone's thoughts. As for us we're just not sure maybe it's just that we always slept in the same bed thing more mind over matter. The ? is stemming from us looking at some used units on the market we're looking Into either a Classic or 26U.

Well, getting in and out of the Queen without disturbing your partner is a challenge as is changing the bedding and accessing the storage.

Twins are a might easier to do those things. Visiting involves a 2 foot commute so not a problem.

Also a little more useful when (or if) you use your Airstream as quest quarters as we do.

Since I have had both, I think the biggest advantage of the twin is the additional bedroom space to navigate in. The biggest disadvantage is the fact that you sleep next to the walls which dependent upon your style of trailer and wall treatments might be uncomfortable due to low outdoor temperatures.

If I had to do it again, I'd probably go back to the twins.

I like twins for the storage space both inside and out, more space for changing clothes, getting up to use the bathroom and I usually get up much earlier than my wife so I don't bug her nearly as much.

I'm sure that if we ever got a trailer big enough, my wife would insist on twins rather than queen. Not that we don't like each other's company, but the queens in all but the biggest trailers are cramped to get in and out of, I am often accused, unjustly, of being a blanket thief, and the queens in any size trailer we're likely to get are awkward to make up.

BTW, an ensolite pad between the mattress and the aluminum wall solves the problem of cold butt and shoulders for the person sleeping next to the wall.

We have had both, and have Twins now in our Classic. The queens are not really queens they are RV queens, smaller than "house" queens. But, the main reason is storage.

We have significantly more inside storage as well as exterior storage with the twins on the Classic model than we would on the queen model.

With the twin beds it is easier to walk between the beds than it is to side-step around the island queen.
There are more storage compartments more easily accessed from inside and outside the trailer with the twin beds.
The twin beds are easier to make up.
That being said, you are sleeping beside a cold wall on the twin beds...

I have wondered the same thing as I look at resales and dream about updating our trailer. I think it comes down to personal preference plain and simple. There must be a demand for both because both layouts continue to be offered in new models. My sense is that the twin models tend to sit longer when listed as used for sale than the queens but that is not a single factor (age, condition, etc. factor in also) nor is it scientific by any means.

Twin beds mean that you don't have to struggle with your partner over the covers.

We bought the twin for the center isle and the ability to move around better while dressing and accessing storage. I believe the twins are also longer than the queen. The center nightstand is very accessible and we have all our phone accessories and item we use throughout the day there in one place. Pull out storage under the bed is plenty and we keep each other clothes items under our respective beds. Access to the upper center cabinet on the back wall is also very easy to access. Cabinets at the foot of the beds are out of the way and make the bedroom seem bigger.

Can you snuggle at night? Come on, you're camping! Usually dead tired by bedtime

We have Twins and it all about walking space.

Most important is not waking up the better half when you get up early.

Bed (s) much easier to make up. More storage space, more room to dress. Also makes the trailer seem bigger.

All of the above:
- Two twins are larger (wider and longer) than a queen
- Really awkward for one person to get in/out of bed
- More storage (inside and out)
- Useful space (dressing area) between beds
- Easy access to storage - above beds and under beds
- Really like the center console/nightstand and drawer
- Black lab is happy to be sleeping between us, and isn't in the hallway
- Minimal disruption during night when other person moves, rolls over, goes to the toilet

Hope this helps.

We have a 2015 FC 25 ft Forward Bedroom, originally equipped with the Queen. We have since converted it to twins and love it. In the 25 FB, the queen is oriented across the trailer, making access to one side of the bed very difficult. The longitudinal twins give easy access to both beds, additional storage space, and make the bedroom more useful as a second area for entertainment (TV, playing games, reading, etc.) The impression of roominess is greatly improved, for what it's worth.

More bed area and extra storage

My wife and I chose our Twin because the individual bed spaces are a few inches wider/longer than the queen. The Twin also gave us extra storage space between the beds (on newer 2016 and up) it also provides an extra storage space outside too). Also, if you ever go with "just the guys" having the Twin setup is preferable to having to share the queen bed (at least to me).

We are in the process of converting a 2004 AS 28 from a queen bed to twins. We got tired of climbing over the bed, no space to get dressed, could not get at the storage and hard to make the bed. So we have addressed all the negatives and now get to have cold butts. 😜

Twins provide space for grandchildren to socialize while the adults visit in the living room.

Dang! Had not thought of access for the grandkids! We may have to convert back to the queen. 😳

Also, twins use special sheets that are curved at the top. I use suspenders from Walmart to secure them underneath. Twin beds are great!
