Patience Grasshoper. When they have a date you will be notified. If you can make the trip, you can watch it roll off the line.

Hey, good idea!

Could you take delivery right there in JC? If so, maybe you could camp there a few nights, start your punch list of warranty items to be fixed, and get them resolved before you even leave town.

Congrats on the new AS, you're gonna love it!

Unless something has recently changed, Airstream will not deliver a new Airtream to the owner at the Factory. I have always felt that they should do this. It would be great for customer relations. Chevrolet has always done well delivering new Corvettes to owners at the factory.

Last time I was at the factory there was a couple there to see their trailer come off the line. They received special VIP treatment. They were of course unable to take delivery at that time. There is a dealership not too far from Jackson Center where their trailer was being delivered. Sorry but do not remember the location.

There is an Airstream dealer in Troy, Ohio, about 35 miles from Jackson Center.

Airstream used to allow customers to pick up trailers at the factory, but that option was discontinued some time ago. It was stopped for a variety of reasons.

Brian, thank you. I knew it was very close.

One thing do not really understand is the flat rate delivery cost. Negotiable?

I agree Moosetags, some of the Class A Motor Home manufactures even encourage it.

The wait is not easy; I know. Our 2016 30' Serenity will likely arrive sometime mid-to-late June. All we're told so far is that it WILL be delivered no later than July 7th.

Taking delivery at the near-JC dealership would be nice, so that adjustments/repairs could be made at the factory, but how would that be handled if the coach was not purchased from that dealership? What motivation would they have for going through all of the delivery services on a coach they did not sell?

DHart, I took delivery of a Keystone product (a few years ago) in Goshen, Indiana near the factory. I purchased the trailer at Lazydays in FL & they made arrangements with a repair
facility in Goshen to pick up the trailer at the factory & I picked it up from them. Lazydays paid them a few hundred dollars (around three) for the prep & delivery. I did not have to pay any transportation charges & Lazydays deducted there prep fee of around $500 and adder the amount paid to the Goshen guy. That worked out great for me especially as we had family in St Louis, MO. and turned the whole thing into a vacation.

My husband and I feel your pain. At least you were given just a four-week window-- we were told July or August!

Honestly, we're not complaining too much. The wait at least enables us to slowly acquire all the things we need for our International Signature 28 instead of having to go buy them all at once. We still have to spend just as much money, but somehow it hurts less when the cash outflow is stretched out over a longer period of time.

Now... if the trailer isn't here before Labor Day... THEN we're going to start getting a little impatient!

Don't get to anxious to get on the road with your new Airstream. You should plan on at least a week living in the trailer full time within shouting distance of the dealer. The number of warranty issues is normally not small. We had leaks, and converter failure withing the first three days. Very expensive fix if on the road. Don't expect to get a first class product just because you paid a first class price.
