We went on a trip over spring break from WI to Chattanooga TN and stayed at a campground for the week in a cabin. I am new to the whole camper deal and just figured I did not notice the silver trailers in the past and was looking forward to seeing a few on our trip. Our trailer is not road ready yet so it had to say at home. The whole trip we saw only one Airstream it was at the campground (it was nice 2007) I did not ask the model but it was a beauty. We did not see one on the road the whole time. We saw a pile of SOBs on the road and at dealers along the way. We did look at a 1970 Globe Trotter in a nearby town at a dealer that was for sale but it was pretty beat up. How rare is it to see an Airstream or one of its brethren on the road? I know it was a little early but hey there were a pile of SOB trailers on the road.
It's rare enough that we have a thread on here where people post Airstream sightings.
I think it's just a numbers game. It's a big country, there are LOTS of RVs of many other brands out there, so you don't see all that many on any given trip. Unless, of course, the destination is an Airstream rally.
