When not on the road, I keep my AS in the driveway as long as possible. I had a 50 amp hookup installed on the side of the house and run the hose from the spigot nearby for water. All I need is sewer to complete my hookup! Just like to hang out, mess with my Christmas lights I installed inside for the season (they look really cool reflected off the ceiling), read, and make notes to my AS journal. It is a place of peace, a space I can manage to keep clean. Somehow my mind works better in my wonderful AS.
When not stored in the barn for the winter ours is right near the house. We do happy hour, naps, and an occasional breakfast in it. Guests love it as the guest room. Even when it’s in the barn I go in it every once in a while.

Generally not. We store the Bambi at a friend's rural acreage in summer, and it's currently in storage at an undisclosed secure location in a southwestern RV park awaiting a winter outing in the Mojave desert.
Once when we were a group of 5 for dinner at our friend's place, we offered pre-dinner cocktails and appies inside the Bambi. We made a round of Manhattans. Then it turned out that one friend wouldn't drink them because he was a Scotch (neat) and red wine drinker only. Our hostess isn't much of a drinker and found them too medicinal-tasting. So three of us tried to do them justice.
Anyway, it was fun, regardless. Kind of a good conversation starter. Highly recommended for a different sort of dinner when the weather's nice if your AS is at home.
Before I started the renovation I too would just go sit in it & get ideas & make plans of exactly how I was going to do the renovation.
It took almost 2 years of planning before I started to take it apart. Now it's 80 percent done.
I'm happy I planned it all out step by step.
Now it gives me peace to just be in my Caravel.
I bought the house because i could fit the AS in the backyard. It's spare room, clubhouse, bar and extra fridge rolled into one. Such a stress reducer to not have to empty the tanks before heading home from a trip.
Our new Basecamp is winterized and parked in a storage lot but on nice days we take a picnic lunch and go sit in it. Next year we hope to either have it at our house or parked somewhere warm!
