What's your name??
We name what is important to us, so it's no surprise to find so many have special names for their AS. So, I'm wondering what did you name your AS and why? How did it come about? Mine is yet unnamed but "Something About Mary" is high in the running. (Remember the movie?) Since my name just happens to be Mary, I do believe this would be a fine fit! Also thinking this works especially well due to the circumstances my sweet one has come to be mine. After many, many married years wishing and dreaming for a vintage AS and constantly being shot down for a number of reasons, I pulled the trigger almost immediately after the ink was dry on my divorce papers. This sweet baby signifies so much in my life right now - MY freedom, MY independence and many happier times. Selfish thinking? I don't think so- sharing the wonderful things in life with friends new and old makes it my gift to others. So there's my story- tell yours!

My '72 Trade Wind is named "MadMen"....cuz you gotta be a little mad in the head to undertake a complete overhaul and update to the 21st Century. My F250 TV is "Brutus". My Yamaha Road Star motorcycle is "Thunder"....cuz he roars. Just wish I could take him along on the camping trips. Maybe my next project should be a Panamerican toy hauler.

Name
Dexter and The Heap.
Dexter because the previous name for the van was socially unacceptable. Th Heap because when I got it home one side of the shell was hanging off to the side and the interior was shoulder high in old Airstream junk.

My 64 overlander named itself. I was cleaning and on the outside of the entrance door and there was the name just ever so faint. I had looked at it many times. I am in the middle of a complete inside dismantel and probably a shell off. Today the sun was just right on the skin and I happen to notice some writing on the top of the door. We had actually decided to name it Myrtle-Louise but we can't change the name already given so the name is Bugtussel

Pete and Sacajawea
Pete will be the name of the TV...haven't found it yet...is that bad luck to name it sight unseen? Sacajawea for the 27FB Signature...she will guide me...also, saw a Sacajawea sketch on Portlandia that cracks me up big time!
Cheers,
John

We're leaning toward The Silver Savoy, after the hotel in London. She is our swanky hotel on wheels. And we plan on serving (and consuming) lots of cocktails. We have a copy of the Savoy Cocktail book ready to reference.
Haven't named the TV yet, but we still don't have one.

Our '66 Safari is named Shiny. She definitely wasn't when we bought her, so the name was given to inspire me to do the work.

Someone scratched ARELI into the side of our 66. I polished most of the name off but it is still there faintly. SO I guess that is it's name now.

Ours is named "The Trailer". Original, huh? We really need to be a little more creative.

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one! We tried to name our's Harold after the original owners, but ten years on, the only thing that has stuck is 'The Trailer', so I guess that's its name

My 71 Tradewind is Stella. Not so much after Stella Byam, but that's nice too, but after having a temper tantrum over a broken water line in which I reminded my wife of Brando in A Street Car Named Desire
My Streamline is Baba Ganoush. Because I just bought some and needed a name to send my guests to.
My Sovereign is Beetle Juice, because it goes nicely with Baba Ganoush.
My 67 Tradewind is where I keep my parts. Until now it has been unamed. But it came from Trinidad Colorado so I name her Trinidad.

We're naming our 72 Safari "Miranda" after the gifted country artist because it takes "all kinds of kinds". Love her song about an Airstream too! <3

Don't remember how it got started but one of us started calling her Flo. About six months later we saw an old Dragnet episode and the victims first name was Florabelle. Been that ever since.
