Whats your last week of April looking like?
I started out the week-end getting cleaned up around here. Seems like spring had finally arrived the week before and I needed to get raking and cleaning up winter tires, cars etc... With the taxes complete and submitted, I focused on the work outside and things looking well underway. On Sunday the dirty A/S was beckoning so I took on the job of washing, polishing and sealing the front third of the trailer. I had no idea that this would take more than 5 hours, being a little OCD about cleaning and polishing doesn't help.
As I cleaned and polished the front, I noticed a 7 to 8mm blotch of GREEN something-or-other etched in the clear coat near the curb side BR window. I do not ever recall using anything caustic that may have caused this (I read somewhere that simple green can damage and stain aluminum) but cannot figure out how this may have formed. I have tried to polish it out with mild to abrasive to a medium cut abrasive but I stopped before I damaged it. The stain did not even fade with the polishing. Does anyone out there have any idea what I have going on here?
And finally, after all that work it NEVER seems to fail...
April 25th in Ramara, Ontario. Its been a long winter.
Happy Spring
Kevin

Looks very nice.
My late husband insisted the only way to get our Interstate really clean was to wash it himself....and he did, followed by a hand wax, at least twice a year.
It's what guys do, he would say.
Good job!

Thanks Maggie, it is indeed what guys do.
I have enjoyed reading about your travels in your ongoing adventure thread. Someday I may jump in to say hi!

I am free most week ends as I have a 9-5 but very flexible job in sales. Unfortunately for us, my wife is a working RN and most week-ends whenever things are happening my wife is working. Fortunately she retires in 2.5 years. The Spring opener in Ottawa is in early may... we can't make it. Our first week end on the road will likely be the Victoria Day long week end. I think the snow will be gone by then.

Getting ready for next week's trip, which is my fourth trip of the calendar year. I'm getting off to a slow start compared to last year since I already had to cancel two trips for various reasons. Hopefully I'll make up for lost time later in the year.
Gotta love the year-round camping season in the Gulf Coast states!

Work and weather permitting, heading out towards Zion NP for a couple of nights in the AS. Plan to get all the frequent wheel torque checks done on the new 16" wheels, and otherwise get a short trip in to officially start the camping season. Will do some sight-seeing and hiking in Zion, as weather allows.
Nothing spectacular planned, with the exception of the destination.

Sounds like everyone is having a great start to the RV season and some of you have been going strong all winter. This will be our first summer with the A/S as we purchased it last fall and only pulled a couple thousand km before putting it away. Rose and I are looking forward to traveling locally then heading out on a 2 week trip in July to do a loop North and East then home again. So excited.
Did anyone out there have any ideas on that Green spot shown in the second picture on Post 1? It seem like it might fade in the sun but I am still curious what it may be and how I can get rid of it.

We've already been out 4 times this year and will head out again Saturday.
Every week/weekend in May is booked.
As of now, I've got 11 planned trips.
That changes each month. More are added.
So my April looked like 2 camping trips and wash the trailer.
I installed new house batteries, cleaned the glass, and put tire dressing on the tires in a campground.

Living in Orillia, I'd think you'd be used to April snows. Aren't the fish huts still out on Lake Simcoe? Hope the May long weekend is snow-free.
Heading out to Nfld. first week of June (if CanAm finishes work on my AS by then). Hoping snow is off "The Rock" by then. Wouldn't mind a few icebergs though.

Biking On
We're on a 48 state bicycle trip with the Airstream that started in Myrtle Beach, SC on March 1rst. My wife drives the Airstream Hilton and I ride home each day.
We are currently in the Eastern Sierra near Bishop, CA. Did Death Valley last week. It's a great time of year to be out in the Airstream and on the bike. On to Oregon and Washington.

Very impressive! I have a friend and colleague at work who recently retired and just completed a coast-to-coast bike ride, 2590 miles from San Diego to Jacksonville. He blogged the trip, sharing countless stories and photos from his 3-month journey.

Had a site reserved for this last April weekend but had to cancel due to family issues. Good thing since its going to be a rainy weekend.

Yep, we made it. Expect some cold and weather, but this is a nice area (see view from front of the AS.)

Weeping Rock, Zion NP - wet conditions, ideal for lots of ephemeral waterfalls throughout the park. Desert varnish takes on darker, richer hues with the rain. Nice day to visit.

Beautiful photos, thanks for them. I shouldn't feel too bad about our cool spring when I see pics of trailers covered in snow in NM. Crazy weather.
Great photos of Zion as well. I wish I was there.
Spent the last day of April cleaning up some corrosion and waxing the heck out of the A/S. It was moderately warm so I could get outside. May is another story, cold and wet on May 1st, our April showers decided to make an appearance. Hopefully we all have a safe and happy summer. See you out there somewhere.
