That is so true! If you ask the answer will be "NO". So I learned not to ask. After 24 years of being married my wife knows my MO!

If that principal was not in play, we would not have a tow vehicle or a trailer- but she has never said no to a road trip...

$75/mo gated and patrolled outdoor storage

Northern California Bay Area. $75/mo paid quarterly in advance. 20 minutes from the house. Gated and patrolled gravel level area outdoor storage. Water and 20Amp available for washing and battery charge. Caretakers living in storage compound. Part of a local campground open 365 so towing in/out of storage to campsite available for $15 and there's plenty of caretaker daily travel/surveillance near trailer (not by the NSA). The trailer gets a little dusty from time to time. - Brad

In Fresno, mine is covered and $77 per month. Only 3 miles from my home making it easy to bring to my HOA neighborhood and tinker then take it back. Great backing up practice. The cover is more for the hot summer sun and not rain since we have only 15/100 in the past 4 months. This drought will be a problem.

We are at Shady Storage in Apache Junction, Arizona with a 12 x 50 covered space with a shared outlet to keep the batteries charged. I have a huge Class A on each side so there is plenty of shade. Tim can answer any questions for the Phoenix area at (480) 983-7600. There are many sizes of covered spaces as well as storage spaces for stuff.

I paid nearly $2,100 for 12 months plus a free month, so 13 months. There are two Class A sized RV wash stalls with RO water source (pay like in a car wash for minutes). There is fresh RO water fill for the tanks and a no charge dump facility. 24 Hour cameras (lots of them), manager lives on premises. pass code gates, huge trash containers and concertina wire on the top of all the high walls. The whole place is paved with asphalt.

Since we can have the unit inside the HOA only typically in day light hours, (no parking on the streets after 11pm) the 9.8 mile commute is not that bad on a dual lane highway most of the distance.

Wow, thanks for all the replies everyone. Very interesting and educational. I'm in the Waco area and given that land is cheap around here and RVing seems popular it appears I am blessed with a variety of options. I hadn't thought about the hail issue until it was mentioned but now obviously I'm going to want a roof.

Responding to the post upstream. There is no chance I can store something larger at my house. My lot is somewhat triangular so side yard narrows from front to back. I can't fit a larger trailer there even if I extended the pad because if I backed it further back it would get wedged between the fence and the house. My pop up is all that fits in the space and as it is I can barely squeeze my lawn mower through the gap,

I haven't called any local places but I have seen a few nearby with roofs so those would be the ones I'll start calling. Boy would I love to have one of those hangers.

I guess the next house is going to be smaller and have a full size barn on site for RV parking. Which will require living further out in the country I guess.

$50 open, no amenities

$110, covered, with electric. I run a de-humidifier.

MICHELIN recommends wood under tires no matter the surface. I overinflate by 10%.

I received permission for garden hose hookup to brush wash and rinse on occasion.

Covered is highly recommended, as is non-24/hr access. At mine can leave after 2300, but not enter again until 0700 except by arrangement.

My storage yard gives RV owners 24-hour access, but limits access for the storage buildings to 6am to 10 pm. I have even hooked up late at night, slept in the trailer, and left at 5am to miss Austin work traffic.

$40 per month for a gravel pad, no access 2200-0500. Plenty of sun for solar, secure and well monitored. Only 2 mi from home and is working well for me.

$55/mo.....video surveillance (manned fulltime), paved-level, no access 22:00 to 06:00, full sun for solar. 11 miles away from home, but much better than one just down road from home (gravel, hillside, no security)

As far as vehicle storage is considered, most storage facilitators provide only parking lots where vehicle get exposed to climatic changes and dust. If we intend going for climate controlled storage facility along with fire and theft monitoring system its well and good. Safety and security of storage comes along with cost. While we were in Toronto we opted for self storage units that has all the safety and security features which comes along with affordable cost and we managed to find few good storage service. Hopefully you can find appropriate storage service in your area.

Safari is stored at home behind the garage in NC plugged in 24-7, unless we are traveling. No monthly fee, but it cost about $800 to put in the parking pad. I only have space for one or the other, so the trailer we use most for traveling gets the spot.
Excella is stored in FL at the campground where we winter. Cost is $60 per month outside on a stone pad. Optional electric is metered at $0.14/kwh.

I pay $450 for 6 months (early November to early May) for a place in a large heated secure warehouse with a provided 15 amp outlet for slow charge battery. 15 miles from home (Montréal, Québec) this building is used in the winter time by a greenhouse contractor to secure his material, tools and scissor lifts.

That's a great price for covered storage. I wish we'd have anything like that close by.

I have precisely the wrong driveway...slanted down toward the house, barely long enough even if it was level. So, our next house will be much smaller, have no HOA or at least no rules against RVs at the house, and a nice flat driveway plenty long enough for the trailer, and maybe the entire rig (TV + TT). While I'm dreaming, I might as well order up a covered pad for the TT with easy access to power.

What you need is something like the houses at NTAC (North Texas Airstream Community) in Hillsboro, south of Dallas. There are a number of houses there with Airstream-sized garages built right on.

Great place for security, too. Code gate and all the neighbors know you and watch out for each other.
