We're done

After suffering a stroke last August I looked forward to getting my Airstream out again.even bought a new to me truck to tow with. The first outing was a mini rally of 10 on lake Martin in Alabama. The experience was a bump with reality. I can't do this anymore. Too much work too little fun.
I am getting better but have a long way to get back to normal me. So I put the trailer up for sale, and incredibly it sold to a fellowcvintage camper enthusiast we knew from rallying together over a few years.that was great! A fine new home with people who have exoerience!
So I will sign off after 17 or more years of participation in this forum and the Airstream lifestyle.
Have other interests I will pursue including a Viking cruisedown or up the Danube in july.also bought an Audii tt for fun times.sayonara friends

moving on

I hope that your condition improves to the point that it was prior to your problems. We pass though cycles in our life and hopefully the passing of this one will bring you to another just as, or more interesting and enjoyable.

God Bless and be well

Sorry to see you go. I hope your condition continues to improve and you enjoy cruising as much as you have enjoyed Airstreaming.

Trade your Audi for an Interstate and stay with us. You don't have to leave; stay on the Forum and contribute. Either way, good luck on your future doings.

Good luck and continuing progress. Hope time makes it possible for you to restart... and personally I would love meet you at a rally even if you are.just day tripping from a nearby motel or inn.

NEST? Interstate? Lower maintenance may make the difference.

Best wishes, Paula

Hi Alan and Shannon,

We enjoyed seeing you at Lake Martin even if only a few hours. We can certainly understand your comments about too much effort for too little fun. Sometimes life has a way of changing "gears" for us and we know you'll find creative and fulfilling ways to use your time. The river cruise sounds like quite an enjoyable trip - keep us posted here on Air Forums even if it's not Airstream specific.

An earlier post mentioned an Interstate. Perhaps there is one in your future. They are as easy to drive as a car, require very little setup at the campsite and Shannon and you won't have any trouble backing it into a campsite. Better than a hotel - everything is always with you - clothes, food, bed, bathroom....

We'll accept sayonara for now but look forward to seeing you down the road!

Alan & Shannon,

Thanks for years of rally fun and the leadership shared on rally events and at various outings. You were among the first we met 'streaming and brought joy to lots of us here. Though the climb back may take longer than you envisioned, please find the time to join the crowd in Hiawassee once again - even if it is only an afternoon.

Dave & Susan
