Thanks to all for your comments. They are appreciated.

This is a great forum with so many helpful people. It makes the experience of being an AS caretaker so much more enjoyable.

Relative to comments about the brakes and wheel bearings, the brakes were replaced last year and the bearing checked and repacked at the same time. The tires have good tread and where new in 2012. The batteries are from 2012 as well.

We have already started planning our first trip.

Again, thanks to all!

We just made the plunge too. Bought a 2008 27FB Classic. These forums are wonderful and so informative. And every Airstream we considered was almost immaculate. No other RV owners take such good care of their assets.

We are looking forward to meeting the AS group out on the road.

Congratulations on your great find. That's a great floor plan. We have had two of them, an '05 Safari, and now a '15 Flying Cloud. We have spent 1,400 nights in 25FB's and can certify that they are very comfortable.

I was in your place 5 years ago. We have had a great time in our AS. Jackson Center is a great place to get work done and as you know, the AS community is wonderful. Welcome and good luck.

I didn't take the route you did, and I still am not sorry. About 3 years ago, I was not even thinking about an AS. I walked up stairs one evening, turned on the computer, brought up EBay and there SHE was. I yelled to my wife and asked her how she would like an AS, she said sure. I did not question her answer...I won the bid and have not been sorry...frustrated at times, but not sorry. We are leaving in a couple days for our favorite spot, Lake Kerr, NC state park, spot 47(waterfront), for a week. Believe it or not, I still get excited. One of the best things to happen since purchase, is finding this's great, and so are the folks you will meet on the keyboard. Congratulations....
