Yup, the kit worked well on our 2007 Safari. But it looks to me like our 2014FC already has it- or something very similar.

Could be.

I showed our kit to Airstream, several years ago.

Their answer was "the fix is not needed", just don't slam the door. HUH??????

Sorry that a few folks only like things that they come up with, and most always they also kick simple things in life, "to the curb".

Oh well, as always, the majority rules.

Will that kit last foever?

Heck no.

But what does??

Especially when it's free, other than for the huge amount for shipping.

Andy

I got one of Andy's felt washer fixes for the '05 Safari some years back. Easy to install and it worked. The new '15 Flying Cloud came new with the felt washer already there.

I admit that I have not read the entire thread.
But seriously what I would like is a white porcelain sink in the bathroom. Every time I spit toothpaste in that silver one I need to clean ASAP

It's the little things...

Good one. I'd like to see a faucet in the bathroom that's actually long enough to pour water into the sink...the first thing I'll upgrade in our trailer is that stupid extra-short faucet.

Or, get an Eddie Bauer (one of the features that we liked and moved us into the EB) ... naw, you'd just say that the D-ring tie downs on the rear exterior frame are just bolted on ...

I would like to see Airstream add a metal flashing beneath the exterior walls. It would be installed on top of the floor before the walls are set in place. This would be a modified "Z" shape so that the inside edge would turn upward inside the interior skins. The outer downward leg would be outside the belly wrap to let any accumulated water drip outside. The outer leg would be hidden behind the lower rub rail. At the sections of wall that are not straight, a flexible adhesive flashing would be needed on top of cut metal sections that would be used to accommodate the curves. In lieu of or additionally to caulking, maybe a strip of EPDM self healing adhesive flexible flashing could be placed continuously on top of the metal flashing to take care of potential leaks from the necessary structural connection penetrations.
