I want a lock that never mysteriously locks itself when I close the door.

I like the combination lock, also.

If you're going to wish, go all the way. I want a lock with a retina scanner.

Realistically though, I wish they'd drop the mechanism that enables motel-mode on the door. I can't imagine ever a time when I would want my door to automatically lock when I shut it. Does anyone actually use this?

Have a Hide-a-Key somewhere to save yourself from a cold night outside.

We have always had an outside hide-a-key.

i use that feature most of the time as it save lock wear. i also wear the door keys around my neck.

i'd like a release for the door hold-open latch that i can unlatch without going outside. it should not make more holes in the exterior shell.

use a 12v buzzer for the door bell. in the longer trailers i think you need two.

We have a free "lock out kit."

Send us a SASE with 2 stamps and it's yours.

I'm still dreaming, but I would love it, it the port hole windows over the living area windows in the FB's where also over the windows in the bedroom. More light!!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but all the windows and natural light has always been the biggest selling point of an Airstream to me. I've never seen so many windows on a SOB. Maybe a bus, but rarely.

More windows!! LOL

I know, more things to leak

We have a key box with a push button combination lock built into the lid. It's permanently mounted in a concealed area into the AS structure. Simple matter to gain access, pop it open, and retrieve the spare keys.

I have no idea where my kid found it, but it saves you when you can't find the keys.

Let me guess, a rubber band. I know why the one lock mysteriously locks itself.

Some note about storage..... My new Serenity 30 RB has huge storage with the side closets in the bedroom. And now they all have lights which come on when the door is opened.

But, access to wiring might be nice except it would create a structural problem as the Airstream has no real frame other than what it sits on.

Ours is modified with a plastic friction washer that prevents lockouts--its a very simple fix...dunno where it came from. PO (My son) and I installed it...

Sorry, but your guess is very wrong.

The kit consists of 2 special washers with instructions of how and where to install them.

2 stamps is a very cheap investment, as many other owners have experienced.

We invite anyone else to better the fix, and at no charge, except the 2 stamps.

Andy
