The prophecy of the wedge...

For the blessings and some grins, a humble reading...

From the apocryphal Gospel of Saint Wally, Chapter 3, starting at verse 7, the prophecy of the wedge.
And lo, an angel of the air didst visit the camper that night while he slept. And the angel said, “Go now and maketh unto thee a wedge made of sturdy wood. And the shape of the wedge shall be that of a wing, even that of a bird wing. And thou shall cutteth thee a notch on top of thy wedge. And whenever thou shall go with thy trailer, wherever thou might goeth, thou shall close thy door and thou shalt place thy wedge firmly between thy handle and thy trailer and the notch shall cradle thy handle and the wedge shall reach unto thy door and shall cover thy door. And when it shall come to pass that thy door wilt fling open upon thy travels, thy wedge shall shall keep thy door closed. And all thine possessions shall be safe and dry on that day.

And the camper didst ask the angel, “wherefore does thoust come unto me to maketh this request? Is this matter not unto those that maketh my trailer?”

And the angel didst answer saying, Verily I say unto thee that unless thou obey, it shall come to pass that upon thy travels with thine trailer, thine door locks wilt fail, even though thou didst close thine door with exceedingly great care, and thy door wilt fling open with great force and thy door wilt be mangled, and thy hinge wilt be torn asunder, and thy windows shall break and all thy possessions shall be flung hither and away, and even thy floor shall then be wet and shall rot away, and thou wilt have no way to close thy door, and there wilt be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And thine heart wilt grow angry and thou shall seek to smite those who maketh thee thy trailer and those who didst conceive thy trailer, yet not maketh known to thee what shalt come to pass, nor provision thee with that which wouldst prevent it from coming to pass.

But on that day, no pity will come thy way, for I have made known to thee that which thou should doest.
Let us be blessed with today's reading.

That is one of the funniest things I have ever read. And I had best learn about this divine directive.

Call me crazy, but I'll skip the wedge and take the 1:31,000 chance that it happens on my trailer. That's right baby, I live on the edge.

Love the verse, but suggest....

So well done, however, at each mention of mere 'trailer' I wanted language like 'wheeled chariot' .... as from film Ben Hur (?). Silver.... ?

There are indeed many translations and interpretations. Some take it literally, others view it as a metaphor, still others a poignant meditation on the futility of blame and who should empty the black tank this time.

Now, do I need to do that for a 2018 model or all models should practice?

Door swing mystery solved

Your post was highly entertaining but also cleared up the question about one of the design oddities of my 2018 FC 27FB. Why the “backwards” door swing? Now I know!
Any care to tell me why the light switch is under the hand towel in the bath? Never mind... that’s a chapter and verse for another day!
Happy trails!

Really?

Really? Does the door ever actually open during travel, even when both locks are engaged?

My door opens the other way. Is it a homicide door?

I made a wedge for my trailer before the deadbolt was repaired under warranty. I continue to use it as a bit of belt and suspenders approach.
