Bruce, we will generally get a big gunny sack of Puget Sounds best. You are allowed 12 per day per person in season at some state parks. We usually just get them in front of our and other neighbors houses at a low tide. We also get some nice butter clams. We also occasionally get some geoducks which I don't expect many people to know about. They are the best.
When we do oysters we save some small ones for sliders, mediums go on the grill and the big ones go into a stew we have been making for years. Stay tuned in. We are supposed to have the largest dungeness crabbing season (sport) in years. I call my wife on my way in and she puts on the water. Fresh Fresh Fresh.

I've got a plan to take the airstream up to Seaside, OR, bring the deep fryer and live off nothing but fried razor clams and beer until I can't take it anymore!

My go-to fav is Dirty Grey Goose up & dry...especially good with blue cheese stuffed olives! Mmmmmmm...

But I've also taken a liking to some fancy "not really Martini's" of late too...All shaken with ice...served up (so they are pretty!). When camping I use my stainless steel martini "glasses"...
  • Ginger Martini = 1 oz Hanger One Vodka, 1 oz Canton (ginger) Liqueur, a couple of pieces of Crystalized Ginger served in a ginger-sugar rimmed glass...had this in Kuaui last fall...came home & duplicated it - very good!
  • Pineapple Martini = Homemade pineapple infused vodka (made 1 week-10 days beforehand) served with fresh pineapple chunks...I put it in a big glass "ice tea/lemonade" jar with the spout...really good with teriyaki chicken & veggie kabobs...
  • Blueberry Martini = 1/2 oz homemade fresh blueberry simple syrup, 1 oz Absolute Vanilla Vodka, 1 oz Hanger One vodka served with fresh blueberries afloat
  • Pomatini = 1 oz Absolute Rudy Red Grapefruit Vodka, 1 oz Pama Pomagranate Liqueur, a splash of Grand Marnier & a splash of cranberry juice served with a lemon twist
  • Maragatini = 1-1/2 oz Horintos Tequila, 1/2 oz Grand Marnier, juice of 1/4 lime...all the alcohol of a margarita - no mix, no salt

Uh...do yourself a favor - don't try all these in one sitting....

Shari

Wish I'd known, Scott. We had Bombay Sapphire in our trailer at Casini. I prefer it in a G&T, but I might be persuaded to try a martini one of these days.

I'll echo the beer (Lagunitas IPA is my current favorite) , bourbon (Knob Creek, Woodford, etc) and a scotch (Macallans is nice). We're also fond of tequila (Patron is nice). Barbie likes her G & Ts, but I drink 'em too fast .

If we're headed out someplace warm like Burning Man, Pacifico beer is nice and cooling.

It's now past time for a drink. Cheers!

Book 'em Danno, These Guys are Loaded!

How about a Hawaii Five-O Blue Lagoon martini?

Yeah, I really did set this up this for a recent event.

As a result of this thread I am trying my first "designer" martini. We are participating in the Pets and Paws WBCCI Rally in Provincetown this weekend and I am taking this opportunity to sample an Angels kiss martini.
Kind of sweet, pear taste. Not bad actually....
