These are all fantastic - we did so much to our 1980 Trailer that I cannot even begin to pick one as our favorite. After two plus years of work, we just love having an Airstream that can actually be used! There is still a long list of smaller things we would like to update or improve upon, but at least we are camping now!! (and after seeing some of the responses on this thread, I think that list just became a little longer...)

I would be careful about deep shelves... they seem to be the bane of my existence! Unless I'm storing A Big Thing on the shelf, the stuff in the back always gets lost. I just ripped out the original kitchen, and found all sorts of weird stuff that I'd forgotten about!

TPMS, 15" LT tires, Centramatics, and just this week we replaced the OEM vinyl/carpet floor with "luxury" vinyl planks. It makes the space seem so much larger!

OK, here's the next thing to do: a portable, modular kitchen that can be taken outside. Camping in Florida presents the problem of cooking inside- you're simultaneously heating and attempting to cool the inside of the camper. Being able to take everything outside in one go makes it possible to A/C the trailer, and serve up a bunch of guests without constantly opening the trailer door.

Neither of these would work, straight out of the box. Being able to have an organized system inside, that slides out of the countertop for interior use, and then detaches for outside use, would be perfect!

I'll start another thread when the hard-core design phase begins.

On another note, I've started putting everything for a cookout in a large container in the fridge before leaving home. That way, the fridge is only opened once to get everything out.

- BR Door corrected after the four legged friend made her mark on it

- Freshly Waxed

Cant wait till Paul Mayeux and his team at A&P Vintage Trailers Works finish applying their magic! Next week we should be headed down to get it! Yippie, totally thrilled.

Tell us about what in your view is the #1, your very favorite, single improvement that you have made to your trailer. If we do that this thread will provide a focused and lasting Improvement Hall of Fame for future reference. All the improvements are equal.
How do you rank them?
I'll say the Rhinoflex sewer hose because it improved/changed the experience more than anything else.

For me, it is probably the pair of routers I added so that I can have my own local network.

I use one as a repeater, equipped with an external antenna, that I use to capture the WiFi available at the RV parks we stay at. I've reflashed it to use dd-wrt.

The other I connect all my local devices to. Besides not having to worry about reprogramming a bunch of devices, I stream movies off of my laptop to the TVs or my iPad using VLC.

I also have the built in Blu Ray player connected with a LAN cable. That way, if we are at our house with our 50 Mbps WiFi, we can stream movies off of Vudu or Amazon Prime as well.

Two recent upgrades,

First a self actuating fire extinguisher in the refrig outside compartment. The fire extinguisher picture is not mine, my refridge is configured differently so mine is on the left under the copper tubing.

Second is a standing rack with storage bins on the right side of our two sided closet in our 30'.

There are some really great ideas here. My best upgrade is not very original, but peace of mind is priceless. So, I am going with the new 16" wheels and Michelin Lt tires. Also in the picture is the outdoor shower installed this week.
