Stolen Airstream!!!!!

Early this Thursday morning someone came onto our property, cut through a hitch lock and drove away with our 1975 Sovereign that had been converted to a fully operational food truck! Please help us find it! This project represents tens of thousands of dollars and more than 2 years of blood, sweat and tears taken from out from under us. These people were pros as they managed to move a 31 foot trailer off private property without waking any of three dogs or five people. We've put the message out everywhere we know to and would just like it back at this point. Thank you for whatever help you can offer!

Ouch. That is awful. I would also contact all the scrap metal yards. I hope you find it in one piece.

You can either attach images that are on your local computer, or put in a URL for each image that's shared from a photo-sharing site like flickr, photobucket, google photos, etc.

Saw your Facebook post, bad thing to happen.
Seems to be a marked increase in trailer thefts. Must be a high dollar market in used parts.

SurlyQue, I'm in fort lauderdale and will keep an eye out.

If you haven't already, you might want to post pics on craigslist in every Florida city with a bold "STOLEN AIRSTREAM" title.

Lastly, I use a website called "Searchtempest" to search craigslist all over the state and U.S. for various items. Your thieves may try to sell this thing for cheap stating "No Title" It may be worth a search.

Keep us posted

Good luck

We are so sorry to hear that. An Airstream like that is irreplaceable. We are out and about in the Florida Panhandle, and will be looking.

I wonder how they got through the hitch lock without making much noise. Usually requires cutting/grinding which is a loud affair.

I wonder if they used leverage or simply picked/drilled the lock.

Not sure what kind of hitch lock this was, but I've read here somewhere that even with the hitch lever locked someone with a smaller ball than the airstream requires can just drop it on their smaller ball without unlocking the hitch lever. And away they go. Not sure how it would be secured but it got my attention.
Sorry to hear, thieves are the worst

Mention the Unique Vent Hood

Sorry to hear about your loss, mean people suck! I had a 66 Mustang stolen from my driveway during the night; never heard a thing, never got it back.

Be sure to include defining characteristics like the unique vent hood in any descriptions you post online. It may help distinguish it from other similar trailers or spark someones memory of seeing something strange on an "old shiny trailer" going down the road.

I feel your pain and wish you the best of luck. I will keep a look out in California just in case!

Check with local businesses to see if they have outdoor security video cameras that might have captured the AS being moved. Also ask your neighbors. Are there any major highways or Interstates close by? If there are, call the major gas stations and ask if you could review their video to see if they stopped for fuel. Tragic event, hope you get it back ASAP. Might ask the local TV stations to run a photo of your AS.
