Thanks for the invite. She has already decided that she is not going to travel to any state that does not recognize her concealed weapon permit, Oregon, and some of the west most states do not. She is heading out soon and going to be gone until mid summer, no specific destination in mind. We will regroup then and probably take a two trailer caravan into the mountains late August until mid October. You are nice to invite her and I will be sure and let her know. She is out with her trailer, I believe named Boomer, for the weekend.

KF, I travel in the lower 48, (have my little friends with me), but, well put away, and do not broadcast it? I think Oregon allows CC.

A good time was had by all!!! A friend and I took Vinny and Boomer out to her Daddy's ranch. They have a great spot by a creek with lots of cottonwoods and a nice grassy area really flat for parking. Got to try out all the systems dry camping. They all worked great. We were out in the wide open spaces away from everyone and everything. Put Vinny and Boomer through their paces getting there and getting out, pretty rough but they performed with no hitch. Didn't do any damage, that I am aware of yet. Getting the camping bug. Ready to spool up Willy Nelson's "On the road again."

Kitty feet, glad you had a great time! Seems like you are giving your FC a good tryout. Best to put him through his paces close to home. Good for you!

LilNomad, a group of us are meeting up at Astoria, Oregon in Sept....see West Shirley Valentine gathering thread....mostly ladies, some are bringing spouse, too. Maybe some will be traveling your way. If so, I hope they'll chime in for you. Evelyn.

Kittyfeet, I just had a thought....since you both are heading to the mountains in late August, the timing would be perfect for the gathering on the Oregon coast. The west coast highway is a drive not to be missed! The ROCKIES.....NOW THESE ARE MOUNTAINS! Evelyn.

Glad the new FC20 is working out! You picked a great design IMO. Feel free to contribute your favorite "On The Road Again" tunes here:

Thanks for the additional posts. Ashley loves her FC 20. Have no idea where we will be for sure in the late summer, early fall, but will keep all in mind. Same reason we would probably not be in Oregon, Washington, California as I gave a few posts back. Will tell her to post her favorite traveling tunes.

Thanks, glad it all worked out. (Might be a good time for her own user name too?)

Cheers,

Peter

Here we go. List of some great oldie goldie road songs

On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again
Get your motor running, head out on the highway
Please come to Denver when the snow flies
Heading out to San Francisco for the Labor Day weekend show
I've been everywhere,man, i've been everywhere
Highway to Hell
Life in the fast lane
Six days on the road
18 wheels and a dozen roses
Roll on highway, roll on along, roll on Daddy till you get back home
Hitchin a ride
Hit the road Jack
Some are the names of songs, some are lyrics of songs. Know the words to all. Everyone, just sing along now------
Of course one of the best driving songs ever-----
Freebird

Ashley, believe it not...I actually am familiar with some of those oldies-but-goodies! Color me surprised.

I look forward to your postings of future adventures. Travel safely. Evelyn.

This thread started for us to talk about our interests.

Turned out to be mostly about " protection " and safety.

I like to go to music festivals. As far as safety, not being alone, making friends, you'd be hard pressed to find a better destination than going to a festival. (Most are cheaper than a campground.

To Vinnyboomer…."Wide Open Spaces " by The Dixie Chicks, would be a nice addition to your music list.
