Shaking my fist at the gods of camping
Had a trip all planned and were pretty much ready to go for the weekend. Food prepped, laundry done, organized somebody to feed the cats.
Except it starts raining cats and dogs and the twins start teething last night. Full on rain, no sleep, fever and tears = we decided to stay home instead.
Only two more trips this year, if all goes well, before she goes into winter storage, so this hurt.

Could be an excuse to "driveway camp.." Plug it in and sleep in the trailer in the rain.. Maybe try different reading or game playing routine.. We've had to do it and it is better than giving up and staying in the house...

Oooh, too bad.
Weather and little ones will thwart your plans every time.
Think of how much easier it will be caring for the fussing twins at home, rather than while camping.
There will be other times.

Would do just that, but we live in the downtown centre of North America's 5th largest city.
Which most of the time we love, but it does mean that our trailer is stored 25 miles away. I think were I able to store it at home, I'd do a weird kind of full-timing by living in it while it's parked next to my house.

Yep, out in mine now relaxing and maybe little nap. I think little ones were going to teethe anywhere, maybe rain on roof would have been soothing, along with senic change. We have 5 children, have been there done that.

I'm camping right now in beautiful weather, but I had a nerve-wracking drive here in the rain yesterday. As long as it's not a thunderstorm, and there aren't stiff crosswinds, I'll roll.
Living in a wet city like New Orleans (average annual rainfall over 60 inches a year) if I let rain stop me from making a planned trip, I'd never get to go anywhere!

For sure, that would be great.
Are you guys coming out to Milton for the fall rendezvous on the 4th of October? Last thing I heard, more than 30 trailers were confirmed. It should be fun.
Now I really want to find a way to transport my 34' beast to downtown Toronto.

Had it just been rain during the drive, we would have been on our way - but it's supposed to rain all weekend. No fun, cooped up in a trailer with three antsy, active kids.

I decided to go anyway. It rained all yesterday afternoon, last night, and until about 9:30 this morning. Then it turned into a beautiful day. Sitting here enjoying the fire.

There really isn't going to be much winter storage going on- we have trips planned in November and January.

I just rain today where I live, the first time since March. I wish I was out in the Airstream listening to the rain. I will have to wait for another day.

Thanks for the kind words, all.
In the end, all was good. We enjoyed the cooler weather and took the kids to the park to run themselves tired. I made the first meatloaf of fall, with mashed potatoes, peas and onion gravy. It was good.
The older one graduated from a kid seat to a booster seat, which we picked up today. Took the opportunity to grab a small compressor, should we ever need it. Coleman stainless steel coolers were on sale....hmmmm. Nice.
