Hello There,

We are thundering up to the Christmas Holiday, and all the fascinating preparations for it.

We are going online, shopping in person, spending money with grand abandon, and stressing out a bit. All this is in "celebration" of a highly-commercialized holiday.

Retailers are totally wound up in encouraging the entire population of the US to spend lots of money. This happens every year.

I'd like to offer a few more important thoughts.

This holiday, beside its religious implications, and the celebrated birthday of a certain Jewish Carpenter that many believe to be their boss, is really all about family.

Decompress a bit, and consider that many of our families are spending the holiday separate from their family members far away in the service of their country.

Consider that many may be alone, without access to family during these holidays. Reach out with kindness...

Count your blessings, and try to reach out to your family, your friends, neighbors, and others during this season. Sometimes just a kind word and a sincere smile can make a huge difference.

Pass kindnesses forward (a good idea for the rest of the year as well).

Here's hoping all are well, happy, and with loved ones, and don't forget our faithful pets, who really need to be cuddled when the weather turns cold...

Peace and love to you all, and be careful when you are out and about celebrating!

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy and hopefully Prosperous New Year from the Snowy North....although I understand Texas got some of the white stuff too
