We are going to the RV show in Toronto this weekend.(It is at the airport) We are still unsure
of Front bedroom or Rear bedroom advantages. We are opting for the view and not too concerned about size of shower room, so I guess FB is what we want. (may rue this later) there seem to be so many choices of airstream styles and lengths it gets a bit overwhelming.
Anything else we should keep an eye out for?

Whether you choose front or rear bedroom, the view is good from anywhere in the trailer. There are windows all the way around, so no matter where you are you can still see out. I had a front bedroom first, and then a rear bedroom. The view was great from both.

You can decide based on style/decor/colors/finishes. As you walk through all the different trailers, you will know which one is "yours" when you walk through it. I like the look of "your grandfather's trailer" so I chose the Classic with all the wood. Some people don't like the look of "your grandfather's trailer" so they choose the sleeker, more elegant European finishes.

First decide what size trailer you need, and the front/rear bed issue may not be an issue as the rear view dinette is only presently offered in 25' and 27'models. If you decide on the popular 25/27 models the only factory seating option is a dinette. (Airstream juggles size descriptions, and are calling some previous 27's a 28' without changing anything but the number, while all 27's and 28's are actually very near 28 feet.)

We wanted the mid-size 25' Airstream but the factory dinette seating was not usable for our long-term travels, so we had it converted to recliner seating (about $4200 if Airstream at Jackson Center does it. This conversion is easy on our front dinette 25' because the furnace is not in the way.)

Our advice would be to consider space and seating requirements and not worry about views because if you are not comfortable or do not have enough space for your particular lifestyle, the last thing on your mind will be looking out the window.

Yeah, like the Classic 30 and 31 are the same weight, length, GVW, price...
The different numbers designate different layouts/floor plans.
The 30 has a walk-through bath and the 31 has a side bath...

We are on our 3rd Airstream so we have had both front and back bedrooms. Our clear preference, though, is to have the view in the back (FB), for what it is worth. Most of our best scenery seems to be in the rear, rather than in the front at the road.

A couple of cases in point - watching a storm blowing across Salem Harbor (MA), and a site at Blanton Creek in GA.

I got an email saying that the show had moved to THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE, which is odd, since that is where I had always gone to it when we lived in Toronto.

Andy Thomson, owner of Can-AmRV will doubtless be there, and is the person that is best equipped to answer your AS questions.

He usually has a good selection of models on display at the show, but in order to have a chance to see and sit in ALL the models, you should visit his showroom down the 401 in London.

Sitting in them for a while is really the only way to really get a feel for how big of one you will want. Plus at his place, Andy always has several different sizes set up to actually take out an tow, so that you can see how different sizes 'feel'. It's been said on here many times that the best towing and bucking up model is actually the 34-footer, but they don't make those any more.

Take your time selecting 'your' trailer. You don't want to have to buy twice!

Eheart, I hear your confusion, I went through the same thing a few years ago when I bought my 28' International. Two comments I would make. Talk to people at the show. Can-Am always has "Friends of Can-Am" at the show who are Airstream owners who can talk intelligently about their trailers and experiences. They are there to talk to people like you, not sell you a trailer. I used to do this for Can-am for 5 years before I moved to Saskatchewan/Arizona. Glen & Suzette and Dave & Linda will both probably be there. They are really helpful. Tell them Malcolm recommended them!

Secondly, consider where you are going to do the majority of your camping. If you are the rustic, provincial/state camper then yes a front bedroom may be the right choice. However if you are an RV park person then you may be looking at the back of your neighbour's coach, or even worse a concrete wall. Here in Arizona we are in an RV park and I wouldn't have anything but the rear bedroom.

you might also consider the twin beds in a 25r. The person that sleeps by the wall usually has difficulty getting in and out of bed. We are in the process of converting ours to twin now. I have the front bed model.
