Polished Bambi II fries patio rug

We were boondocking Saturday at 9,000 feet under a blazing sun when we noticed a dark hole in our patio rug. We thought the dog had chewed at it until a couple of hours later we saw more of what turned out to be burn holes. Our highly polished trailer had reflected the sun burning and melting the recycled plastic rug.

Wow! I would guess they melt at a pretty low temp, given at most, you might have 2X Solar radiation (1X directly from the Sun and 1X from the Sun reflecting from the trailer), given the trailer is for the most part convex... Makes a pretty good argument for portable solar panels that can be positioned to take advantage of the reflectiveness of the trailer.
