Picking up our AS trailer tomorrow!

I'm jealous with envy! Your trailer sure looks nice. Those 19s are cute little rascals. Welcome to the Airstream community. Get ready for folks asking you what year is it, can I peek inside, are they expensive, etc. Airstreams draw attention at campgrounds and fuel stops.

It's so fun to learn all about your Airstream. These Forums are more than happy to answer questions. And you might think of things you might like to do to personalize your trailer and make it just like you want it. I like the loooong thread called" "what did you get for your Airstream". For me and my old Airstreams, it is stuff like a new furnace. For new trailers, it's stuff like a pink flamingo or nice outdoor chairs.

Our 86 Limited was purchased new by my wife's folks. They traveled all over this beautiful country of ours during their retirement years. Now, by the grace of God, we have the same opportunity. Airstreams last a long time and sometimes stay in the same family for years and years.

Maybe someday you will travel to the Jackson Center Ohio factory. They do excellent work, and the plant tour is very interesting. I like the antique Airstreams on display there. These are 40s and 50s trailers.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I read through the manuals and "Airstreaming for Newbies" last night. We have a lot to learn. And yes cwf I did update the profile. The factory tour is definitly on our radar. What we really need is a good warm weekend to run through everthing but that may have to wait until the sprinng. We'll see. Right now we are still trying to figure out where to store it. It may stay right where it is on the property of my business. Question to those who have solar panels...do you remove the batteries or let them trickle off the solar panels if stored outside? I am sure we will have tons more questions but we will keep reading on the forum and I am sure most of our questions will have been asked and answered.

Hi Airstreamer! There are threads on deep cycle battery (like yours, different from a car battery) maintenance during the winter. It rather depends on how your solar energy is hooked up. I believe your battery would be just fine on solar all winter IF the charging voltage is around 13.0 volts. Modern converters charge our batteries in stages, the final stage being a "trickle charge" of around 13 volts. A fully charged battery is around 12.8 volts.

So measure the voltage plus to minus across your battery terminals on a sunny day and see what the solar panels are delivering to your batteries.

Now let's see what the real experts advise...

Very efficient layout. Thanks for posting the pictures of your new Flying Cloud 19. I had not seen one inside before. It won't be long before you head out on your first travel adventure.
