The white woodwork is especially beautiful. So happy for you! Very sharp.

I am strongly considering getting rid of bench and replacing with a Recliners.
DHart Those recliner look great and would match my the black ultraleather in our 28' FC. May I ask the brand and where you got them from?
I've read the other threads on replacing bench with recliners but these look different. Does anyone know if they would fit the 28'?

We have a 28' FC and talked to the factory about converting it to recliners. The result was they felt it was not possible because of the location of the hot water tank, inverter and other components.

If you find this is actually do-able please let us know as we would love to have it done.
Thanks
Doug

The recliners are made by Best Furniture (they are all USA made and top quality!) The model is "Picot". And we specified that we wanted the swivel/rocker/recliner version in black leather. Be sure you specify what features you want the chairs to have.

As you can see in the photos, they are not too small, nor too large... Goldilocks would be made proud of these. They fit in an Airstream perfectly and the comfort is exceptionally good.

They can be ordered with a variety of fabrics or leathers. Ours are black leather and we got them for about $640 each.

Best Furniture products are carried by dealers all across the country. Go to Best Furniture website to find a dealer near you.

Those of you in the Phoenix, AZ area just go to one of the two Kirby Furniture store locations (one in Mesa and one in Phoenix) to order. The Kirby Furniture store people are wonderful to do business with and their pricing is excellent!

I think the factory Service Center would do this if you gave them a photo and description.

We bought our FC 25 RB specifically with a future recliner conversion in mind. The Eddie Bauer 25/27 also look to be easy conversions. We looked at the 28 and thought the converter/charger could be relocated over the furnace for additional recliner space, but at that time the similarly-sized 30 Recliner Option was available. We were in the market for a mid-size Airstream and the 25 with recliner conversion works very well for us and our travels.

DHart's 30 is probably the last of the factory equipped recliner Airstreams and it was a short run for Airstream, 2010-2015. They didn't work in the showroom apparently, shoppers tend to prefer products that can do many tasks rather than specific functions, even though those many tasks are all compromised.

I think a Airstream with recliners installed is correctly perceived as a "trailer-for-two" by shoppers in the mid-size range, larger models such as the 30 have additional room for a couple of youngsters. This doesn't work in the showroom. Perfect for those of us knowing how we travel and prefer the comfort of reclining chairs.

The factory advised that they did not feel it was possible because of all the stuff in the corner of the sofa.
I have seen the conversion that BB did, but if you look close the swivel on the one recliner is very restricted because of the cabinet holding the hot water, converter and woofer.
It is my understanding that everything can be moved except the hot water tank so there is no way around having that cabinet there. That at the end of the day is the issue. I guess there is a work around for everything but in the case if the 28' it is not the best candidate for this type if conversion.

We brought the new coach home late this afternoon. Whew... what an exciting day!

About 20 minutes from our house, we stopped by McDowell Mountain Park to snap a few picks of the truck & trailer together.

Superstition Mountains in the background:

Locals will recognize "Four Peaks" off to the east in this image:

And, finally, tucked away by the side of the house at home:

We wanted the dinette, in addition to the recliners, because we find a lot of use for counter and table space and sometimes I like to sit at a table to work on certain projects. We didn't really need BOTH seats at the dinette, however, and wanted a nice open space for our 100# Golden Lab, so I removed the front dinette seat (easy to do... just a few screws) and turned the subwoofer to be against the roadside wall. This cleared a huge amount of floorspace and opened things up even more, without having to give up having the dinette. This works perfectly for our needs as our dear Golden Lab has an awesome spot, out of the way, for his cushy bed and feeding station. We have no need for any sleep spaces other than our Queen bed, so we lost nothing with these mods.

As for the electronics that are normally placed under the L-shaped sofa, Jackson Center located them inside the center console that is between the two recliners.

We usually eat in the recliners, but if desired, there's room for us both to eat at the dinette - side by side.

We love the lack of cabinets over the dinette. It gives the coach a much more open, spacious feel and lets in even more light to the very light and bright interior.

For an RV without slides, this configuration gives us all the floor space that we need with great seating and reclining comfort and, with the new mattress we just installed, great sleeping comfort indeed.

We are coming from a pretty luxurious and well-appointed 44' diesel-pusher Class A motor coach, but with the Airstream so-configured, we're not really missing much by downsizing to the trailer.

What a great set of mods! I wouldn't have thought of removing a dinette seat, but after seeing it, that makes perfect sense for a couple. I'm going to have to show my other half this nice mod

Very nice!

I think you have done a super job of making things your way.... The recliners look great. And, as we all know, a dog runs the whole show.....

Having done the conversion of a '12 28' Intl CCD from the AWFUL L seat into the two recliners, I can tell you that it made that trailer much, much more livable. While I did have somewhat less space as a result of the HW heater, I was able to convert the space above it to a single seat -- which my dog quickly adopted as a perfect observation post. While there was slightly less space up front, the two Villa recliners worked very well. The folks that bought my trailer were thrilled with it.

Msmoto & BAB... thanks for your comments!

We just got home from the "shake down" trip. So pleased to report no problems or issues with systems, fit, finish, towing, anything! What a great time!

Here are a few images from the trip:
