I’ve also stayed at that resort in Depoe Bay - I don’t think a 27 would fit in the spot you have your 23footer in. I just barely got my 27ft into the third space from the beach facing sideways at that resort.

Agree the 23 foot is a tad cramped but check out the 25. I think it strikes a good balance and the layout is friendly. Plus, you may not need a bigger tow rig like the 27.

We love our 27 and once the kids get into and out of college, we are likely to convert the dinette to either recliners or the Ultimate lounge.

This is in the valley at Yosemite National Park. There’s only one campsite in the entire park with this particular view.

NO QUESTION. You must go with rear!

Front Bedroom - Yes

We have a 25FC FB and really like the fact the bedroom is up front. We have been out FT since February 1st and mostly back into sites which for us seem to have the better view.

The attachment is from Estes Park backed in with a stream just feet away.

Our plan is to upgrade to a 27FC FB Twin. Overwhelming we have been told how great the twin bed layout is and we would like the extra storage in the 27 footer. Towing is really not much different and we have the capacity in our TV.

As others have said it really comes down to personal preference.

Nice mod. That must be an EB? Where is the furnace located - I don’t see anything by the recliner.

Interesting. I’m considering something similar for my 27FB International. What did you do with the heater exhaust?

Hi

It may just be the string of campgrounds we have hit this year. For whatever reason, I've seen a lot of places where the back of the trailer is more than just a bit high after we get things positioned. (yes that is a function of how far you back in ...).

If the door was in the back, getting in and out at these sites would be a bit crazy ....

As far as noise .... If there is another site next to you and they decide to start packing at 5 AM. It pretty much does not matter which end of your trailer the bedroom is on. You will hear them tossing this or that into their RV and running the jack hammer to get everything arranged. Yes, I have data on this and I'm a big grumpy as a result

After selling our 2014 25 foot International to prepare for a 'cabin'... we gave up looking for a cabin, with acreage and in a desirable location for under $600,000. Yikes... times have changed.

Tent camped. A drastic change in how your time is spent once the sun sets...

Yesterday, after looking over a number of Airstreams, 2018 - 2019, Nancy and I agreed upon a 2019 International Signature 27 foot, front bed queen. Although if the twin bed were on the lot, it would have been a tough decision, as the twin has more storage access from outside and extended the hallway to appear longer and cleaner in arrangements.

My choice, being the outside checker, was having the outside black and grey water plumbing in FRONT of the axles. This solves the problematic behind the axles for possible dragging or damage from rocks tossed by the tires. The fresh water drain is between the axles and easy to access to open and drain the tank.

Nancy likes the interior. The pantry is MORE spacious than our former 25 foot International. The microwave is in a drawer and will be removed and stored in the garage. That area will hold plenty, as well.

Other models had a floor material which we both did not like. Looked like woven amber brown grass. We had the light wood plank vinyl in the 25 foot and it could handle two people and two dogs without much wear after four years of use.

Our new choice is being outfitted with a hard framed solar system and a 2 1/2" lift kit from the dealer.

Although not much longer than the 25 foot... it appears huge to us. My getting the 'lift kit', 2- 80 watt solar panels, AGM batteries, plumbing in front of the axles... make me feel 'fuzzy'. Will the 'fuzzy' wear off? Probably... but substituting for that imaginary cabin, overlooking a fly fishing stream, with acreage... now is on two axles. A new experience and break in for us, as the length will limit us a bit more going from a 23, to a 25 and now a 27 foot Airstream.

Now... the tweaking will begin once being put to use. At this point...and checking the trailer out from the asphalt to the ceiling... looking good. I may ask for a ladder, in the next day or two. The dealer's incentive is high at the present to get this rolled off the lot before they put the 2020's on the lot, hiding and out of view right now. Dated stock needs to go.

Carefully cut a new hole to match the old one. Ordered a cargo door from Airstream to fill the old hole.Click image for larger version

Congratulations Ray; curious if you looked at a 28 vs a 27'? We liked the extra storage in the 27' over the 25's we had, but hated the long "lounge" for watching TV or socializing; the 28 FC (vs the International 28) has the L-lounge and separate dinette and extra 2 cabinets above the dinette setting area; the International does not have those cabinets. Just curious...one of our first 25's, a Safari, had similar seating to the current 28' and 30' models...appreciate your opinion.

If I may ask, how are you liking the seperate space, couch and dinette? Is it as important as you thougth it would be?

Thanks! Amy
