Opinions Requested; FB or RB best??
We are considering either a 27' or 28' International Serenity or Flying Cloud. Just me & Hubby (and kitty) but we are in a quandary as to which floor plan is best. Front or rear bedroom? We've heard some campsites you back into the 'view" which is why I am thinking FB. I would really appreciate any pros &/or cons from the field. Thanks!

We looked at them all while shopping, for us the international Serenity 27FBQ just said this is the right layout. I don’t think there is one perfect layout, rather there’s the one that’s right for you. For us queen bed, galley layout, and dining area layout made the right choice easy for us. View out back while dining is more important to us than while sleeping. Go sit and look at them all it will help. Pay attention to how you sit and where and the storage. One will speak to you.

This has been discussed ad nauseam. It's a matter of features of the particular trailer and what they mean to you. Nobody knows that but you.
For us, the RB Twin meant really large accessible rear storage and a larger bathroom and smaller sofa. YMMV.

I guess I've missed those spectacular views at campsites.
I leave the curtains closed.
However, I do like having the door in the front.
Many times the campsite gets irregular farther back, so having the door exit to where the pad is and table is ideal. IMO.
I also like sitting in the living area and watching folks walk by.

I like sleeping closer to our tow vehicle (easier to see and hear if someone is prowling it).

Lots of threads on this. No right answer. So far, what we like most about our FB is the dining area (while we’re awake) faces out to the best sights since you back in to them. We love having dinner looking at the ocean or the forest or whatever we’re in - and sleeping next to the truck is what it is - we’re out at that point. It really doesn’t matter - test a bunch out and see what you like best.

Thanks, I agree, the view while in the living area IS important. We walked thru a bunch of different plans and we really liked the seperate couch area from the dinette. There in lies the rub. They only have that floorplan with the RB. So we are trying to decide which feature is more important.

i agree with MollysDad, the door close to the hitch is very handy, and after a year of travel, I can count on one hand the number of times the curtains were opened. I suppose boondocking in the great West would allow opportunities, but far greater are the packed in campgrounds. It is your decision and yours alone.

We got an International Serenity 25' FBT last year. This is our first front bedroom and we really love it, having the dinette and sofa at the back where we can see the ocean (important) or whatever we back up to is fabulous. We've had 3 rearbeds so far and never knew what we were missing. They worked fine and i did like having the door up front but we much prefer this layout. For us it just works, which is the bottom line for you as well. Have fun looking, only you can decide.

What we think is irrelevant. Only you know which layout is best for you.

I like the FB but had to get used to the door being in the rear of the trailer.

I usually back in to my site and love my RB as it feels private and serene, like a cozy cave, a sanctuary. Would never switch.

Which is EXACTLY why we like our FB, with the ability to sit at the dinette and stare at the trees, stream, whatever. There is no right answer as long as there is a choice.

Thanks, this is exactly what I am thinking. However, I really like the seperate couch area for curling up. We don't want to have to break down the dinette every time.
I am curous as to why you have downsized? If you don't mind sharing??

As you know, the 27 and 28 floor plans differ in the dining area. I think that is a larger difference than front or rear bedroom, and that choice is up to you as you consider how you will use your new trailer. I would mention though that another large decision is twin vs. queen beds. If you can work out the marital relations part, twin beds offer a much more spacious feeling inside, especially with both sets of panoramic windows open to the light. As I recall, the 28 doesn't even come with rear panoramic windows unless configured with twin beds.

My wife and I full time in a 30’ RB. We have found that having the door in the front of the trailer allows us to fit in much smaller sites provided that there are no obstruction behind the site. We have on multiple occasions backed our trailer, into a site having the tail end hanging out past the end of the parking pad. Just a thought.

The always available view from the rear seems to be an assumption in the replies. Personally, we have found there is far more variety in rear vs front views when camping. There aren't as many rear view, perimeter sites in the East as there are sites in the interior of campgrounds with views of other trailer rears. If you find yourself in "rally" field arrangements be prepared for views of the neighbors mere feet away. The choice is really about how/where you will be using your rig.
