Of Dreams And Shiny Things - A New-Bee

Greetings all....
First of all, may I just take a moment and say....
OH MY GOD, WE JUST DID IT!!!

Thanks... I needed to get that off my chest. Yep, we just bought our first AS and actually, our first TT of any kind. So I am a true new-bee to this AS forum and trailering in general. We have owned boats in the past and used them as water-campers a bit. But this is a first for us.

We will take delivery of our shiny 2014 Flying Cloud 19 in 2 weeks. We bought it through Airstream Northwest outside Seattle and yep, we are a little excited. We went back and forth between a trailer or a motorhome, wondering which gives us better flexibility with minimal frustrations. But when we saw the AS and its styling, we fell in love with it. The 19 is light enough for us to pull it with our 2007 Nissan Frontier or our Acura MDX. I hope we chose well.

I will be asking just a few beginner questions in the future but just wanted to introduce ourselves. I also plan on taking videos during our new buyer checkout when they run us through the myriad of systems and holes in our caravan. Until then, here is a link to my post where I announced our purchase.....have fun and talk later.

dprvashon - Congrats! And welcome to the Forum.

Keep us filled in. It's only just beginning. Use your FC. Between now and spring, bump it down the road for a handful of local trips and some extended ones before you feel you even have the first fix-list to take back to your dealer.

The adventure is worth it. Believe me!

Nice blog. I enjoyed reading the part about 50 yr. olds and their retirement thoughts. It hit home.
Congrats on your 19er. Great size.

Thanks all

Brain....did you see the post on Queen's Orders? It is a funny contract between wife and husband... http://voyagetoretirement.wordpress....queens-orders/

Orange Kayak.... any problems dealing with Airstream NW? The sales process went well and the service team called immediately to schedule delivery. A good start

We had a good experirnce w/ ANW. We've been tent campers for many years--first rv--and they've been very helpful and responsive. This forum is a great source of info too. (Which you probably already know!)
