Ok, so the wife wasn't entirely comfortable with buying from a private party (sigh). So we pulled the trigger on a used trailer from Colonial Airstream. Paid a little more, but we get more in terms of service and relationships. Thanks everyone who opined! We pickup on May 23rd and I am already busy on Google planning the route back! Yay!

Congrats on pulling the trigger.

You said that you have never pulled a trailer.

On prior threads folks have suggested renting a big U-haul trailer to practice towing and backing. It won't be as big as your silver bullet, but it's a good way to start learning. Alternatively, some folks sign up for a driver training school with a towing course to get some professional instruction.

Good luck on your skill and knowledge development. Pat

Thanks to everyone for replying. I've changed my id to reflect my new circumstance. I'll lose my history but didn't have much to being with. Looking forward to the adventure!
