Each time that we have replaced our dear Lucy, we have done extensive research on what was available. On each of these occasions we first decided that a travel trailer was the right RV platform for us. Then we looked at what was available that would best fit our camping style.

On each of these occasions, we went with another Airstream. Even with its issues and weak points, we decided that Airstream was the best thing out there.

We are somewhat experienced RV campers with almost 1,800 nights and 150,000 miles of towing. If there were something better than an Airstream, we would have it.

We are hoping that Airstream can successfully pull off a great entry level travel trailer so that the next generation of travelers and explorers can get up close and personal with this great country. We have been having the time of our lives touring the the country in our Airstream.

Brian

We owned a fiberglass Scamp, looked carefully at fiberglass Oliver as a replacement, and since bought two new aluminum Airstreams without the slightest regret. I think Oliver has more to learn from Airstream than the other way around, and they could start with interior aesthetics and proceed with large glass windows rather than little plastic peepholes.

Most of us are Airstreamers, the grass often looks greener on the other side of the fence.

Bob Wheeler said, " unmistakably Airstream "

Is the Nest unmistakably an Airstream ??????

The Scamp looks more like an Airstream than the nest

We haven't yet seen what Airstream will produce, so it's hard to say.

I just don't know if the Nest is "unmistakably Airstream" without a substantial reconfiguration. A Casita painted silver would be more "unmistakably Airstream".

Some fixes for AS could be very simple. The switch to 16" tires/wheels which many on here have done is one.

Hopefully AS will learn building the fiberglass NEST and develop their ability to produce a fiberglass composite floor for their full line of TTs. The technology is there and proven.

After all that I am still looking and hoping to get an AS by the end of this year but haven't totally eliminated a nice quality trailer like the Oliver. I am much like the rest of you here and love the AS size. 8' wide for a 19' trailer gives great space and they have really nice layouts. As someone else said about the Oliver, I don't want to have to make up and unmake my bed everyday.

Well, I've said more than enough for now. Thank you all for your thoughts.

Have a wonderful day, John

A $141,000 MSRP trailer should also have anti-lock disc brakes, solar, inverter, residential refrigerator, and so forth and so on...

Although the Oliver's have a lot of thought and decent features, the floorplans and interiors don't have a lot of appeal to me.

The fact that the promote having Nitrogen filled tires tells me plenty about the company. Either the owners aren't very smart or they don't think their buyers are.

Head, I agree. I like the exteriors. They look too much like a Hunter sailboat Clorox bottle interior. Nitrogen total marketing BS in a trailer or street car/truck.

One key factor for the current Nest that aligns nicely with Airstream aesthetics: big windows.

Big windows indeed, one of our favorite features. I dislike a feeling of enclosure inside many rv's. And Airstream knows it; look at their ads of the interior photos and you will see more landscape (lakes, mountains, forests etc) than you will see interiors.

What's even more cool is with the tinted glass and rock guards you can see out a lot better than the passer-by can see in.

None of the Scamp, Casita, Escape, Oliver type trailers have the interior warmth and style of the Airstream. White fiberglass just isn't my bag, man.
