Narrowing my search:Help

Hello

Can someone help me narrow my current search. I am trying to find the last year of the mid berth twin models. I have looked at the AS archive and of course then just have years and models but it is a poor data base with no search function, which is understandable.

So history knowledge types help me narrow down to last decade or year if "re-collected" of the mid berthing twin bed models.

Researching one of these for purchase and modification ( one twin bed to be converted to desk and work space.

Have you had any luck. In the Airstreams.com archives there are layout photos of the models available that year. Might be the long way to figure it out but ....

Airstream made the mid bedroom 27' model with optional twin beds thru 1988. They also made a few rare 32' mid bedroom models with twin beds between around 1990 or so, but I don't remember the exact year(s). These two lengths would be the last mid twin models.

25' and shorter mid twins probably weren't made past about 1981. A mid twin 31' may have been made into the mid 1980s, but rear beds were becoming more popular and I don't know the exact ending year for mid twins on that length.

Thanks for the info. It will help me narrow by decade at least. The opening and closing of countless "possible" PDF files is why I asked.

Thanks very much.

Glad to help. To summarize by decades. Mid twins are fairly common in 1960s and 1970s Airstreams. Rare in 1980s and non existent in 1990s and later Airstreams.

Hi Idahostat! Welcome to Air Forums. You have garnered some good answers to your question about mid twin bed models. My 66 Trade Wind is a mid twin. My 86 Limited is a rear twin bed layout.

If it isn't a twin bed model, then it is a "gaucho" mid bed with a wardrobe and "make up" counter on the other side. This layout may work for you also.
