Okay Frank and Mike...if you are WAAAAYYYY down the street from us when we go camping together the crawfish fettuccini I have been saving for you just may be gone so you better stay close!

And thanks Pappy for the Cajun Palms recommendation. Crazy that someone from Idaho knows more about camping in my state than I do.

Bringing our wonderful 27FB International to Foley RV Center Friday. Please someone buy it! We only had 26 nights in that trailer. I don't want to calculate the cost per night. We could have been in a Ritz Carlton penthouse for the price...

Ok, so GPO bought out the Airstream dealer, the Ford dealer, Camping World, and Harbor Freight. I don't know where to take him next....RoadJet

We drove our 27FB International to the Foley RV dealer in Gulfport Mississippi today. Anyone looking for a slightly used one should check it out. We installed all of the awning options, stainless doors, and only spent 26 nights in it. Plus the black water tank is pristine. I won't go into details just say that we used the campground facilities.

We sold half of our LSU football tickets, put our Colorado timeshare weeks for sale, and maybe selling the golf club membership. But you heard it here first... This is my final airstream purchase. If GPO wants another he needs a new wife to do it.

A follow up for those of you kind enough to read this post and offer your advice, thank you for your comments. All appreciated.

We love love love the look of our new Land Yacht. It is a TOB ( Thing Of Beauty).
Designed for beauty first, function second. BUT after spending many hours in it this week we have creatively stored everything we need.

Really the "silver lining" was that we edited our trailer contents. I drew upon the experience of walking the Camino de Santiago- living out of a backpack for 6 weeks.

Hope to post photos soon.

Did I hear someone mention "Cajun Palms"?

That park (aside from Poche Plantation on the Mississippi, in the heart of Louisiana Plantation country) is one of our VERY favorite parks. Crawfish Town, of course, is a big part of the draw to Cajun Palms.

Cajun Palms is NOT "camping" as so many Airstreamers prefer to do, it is RVing! And if you enjoy a GREAT RV park, with the best food around... just do it! You will be in one of the most fun and tasty parts of the entire USA. Go to Lafayette during the International Music Festival for one of the most memorable times of your life!

Annie, your posts were a riot.

LY looks beautiful; was the wall art included?

A ship is safe in harbour, but that's not what ships are for.

Look forward to hearing about the maiden voyage.

Oh FaN so glad you like it!
Wall art from a talented friend.
Sorry no posts for awhile. Have been in Spain and Portugal. Not in the Land Yacht.
Yet.

my husband has trailer lust

Okay all you air streamers of my vintage (i.e. old) let's take a stroll down memory lane... do you remember Fabio of the "I can't believe it's not butter" advertisement?
Well it appears that Fabio went into the Italian yacht design business, and partnered with Thor to design the Land Yacht.
Fabio is of course a playboy so the space is all about that. I mean who needs a space for kitchen garbage? Cooking is so over rated! Just go home for mama's spaghetti.
No need for privacy partitions as Fabio would never have children or God forbid grandchildren in the yacht.
The generous shower fits two with ease so who needs a mirror over the sink or a medicine cabinet in the bathroom when you have a full mirror opposite the shower?

It's a gorgeous love shack on wheels but if Thor wants to sell more of them they should give this First Mate a call.

Very funny!

If this helps, one of our trailers is a Basecamp which rates a 10++ for style, and remarkably less for functionality. While Forum members may debate the difference between camping, glamping, and RV'ing there is no question but that the Basecamp is a camper.

We have come to love it every bit as much for its shortcomings as we do for what it excels at.

Fabio lust

Easily distracted by Fabio? Especially in a shiny new airstream? Hmm

Who needs storage space with that wardrobe?

Thanks for the photo, FaN

It was three o’clock in the morning, and the receptionist at a posh hotel was just dozing off, when a little old lady came running towards her, screaming. “Please come quickly!” she yelled, “I just saw a naked man outside my window!”

The receptionist immediately rushed up to the old lady’s room.

“Where is he?” asked the receptionist.

“He’s over there,” replied the little old lady, pointing to an apartment building opposite the hotel.

The receptionist looked over and could see a man with no shirt on, moving around his apartment.

“It’s probably a man who’s getting ready to go to bed,” she said reassuringly. “And how do you know he’s naked, you can only see him from the waist up?”

“The dresser, honey!” screamed the old lady. “Try standing on the dresser!”

The way I see it, the only thing you'll need is a darn good bed.
