I say leave out the D when describing yourself. Being O & C about your Airstream is not a necessarily a disorder.

Birdmaestro - the car restoration is interesting. How about a few pictures of your project.

Hey, I'm *retired*! Personal hygiene has become optional - and you want me to actually *work* on this OCD thing?!

Trying to decide whether to shave or not today,

On the good news front I retrieve the trailer from the Sheep Barn on Monday. Time to install a new skylight and some of the items filling the two boxes in the garage. I sure wish I had the skills that some of the consummate craftsmen here have. I blither through - but I've discovered it takes about twice as long when you have to do things 2-3 times.

The temperature is on its way to 1 degree later in the week. Hopefully the furnace can get things to a comfortable level in the tin can, say 35 degrees or so.

Poppy, seeing those Porsches makes me think - whoever gets your Airstream from you when/if you eventually sell it will get one hell of a trailer.

If you have electric, you can always plug in a small catalytic electric heater (which isn't a bad thing to have when you travel anyway) to help heat up the trailer to work inside.

Poppy it's not to late...!! You can change. Really you can, if you want to!
I learned to over come my of heights by taking up sky diving..
Then again years ago when I did a lot of duck hunting, I started carving decoys... Friends offered to by them, and long story short I went from a hack to winning a ' best of show ' at the World Carving Championship ' OCD got me. So I quit carving. Got into falconry which took me on a long journey, and ultimately to breeding raptors in captivity, a passion i am still deeply involved in.
Then came our first AS, a 66 Safari in major disrepair... two years later it's done, polished and languishing in our garage waiting for spring. So now it is slowly being squeezed out of the barn by another needy trailer this time a 54 FC.
Now then the point is there will ALWAYS be a project that will quite innocently pull at you, it will only need a little work, then soon like some invisible Anaconda tightening its coils, it will indeed become your new addiction. Don't fight it , enjoy it... heck take that Porsche roadster throw a hitch on it and make a fine vintage tow vehicle out of it. Like jumping out of the airplane it will show that you really are in control of your 'issues' hehehehe

Thank you, Tom, that's a very fine compliment. I do consider myself to be a custodian of the rolling stock (and other things) that I'm blessed to enjoy and I try to pass it along in better condition than I received it. Probably win some and lose some.

Goshawks...

Thanks for the encouraging words. Maybe I should go jump out of an airplane (just kidding - I love to be overly literal).

I think the key at this late stage in life (Speaking of late stage, I was chewing on a taffy candy today and commented to my wife that it had something hard in it. I threw the hard piece out of the car window into the parking lot at Ace and finished the candy. As we drove away I noticed that there was a tooth missing. After a while, my acute sense of deductive reasoning figured out that I had thrown the tooth out the window. Being an ever curious aging couple, after running a few errands, we decided to go back to Ace (Ace is the place) and see if we could find it. Sure enough, it was right there where it had landed. I'm expecting great things from the tooth fairy tonight. But I digress.)

I think the key is to *channel* the OCD in constructive ways. Perhaps someone mentioned that.

Am I. or aren't I?

Hi, well actually I'm not. I have a 1959 Ford Galaxie 4 door Town Sedan that I have owned since 1977. I have somewhat restored it twice. It's nice, but what I call a driver. I tell people that at 100 yards it looks like a show car. I also said that if I can't drive it, I don't want it.
We bought our trailer brand new, but it didn't take long for me to find things that I felt Airstream, should have done, or could have done better. So I slowly made these up-grades. One day my wife said that she wanted the living room remodeled, [in our trailer] so I did it. My wife says that I take too long because I want it perfect. I wish I had more time and better equipment so I could do it better. I just try to make things nice, but not perfect. So sort-of OCD or actually not!
