Medicine cabinet organizers
Hi,
We're still in the process or organizing our 2016 FC 27FB and as others here on the forum have commented, the medicine cabinet with the large heavy mirror is a challenge. We will probably take the advice of others and order gas shocks to support the mirror in an open position. Right now since both of us are tall, we tend to open the mirror door and support it on our head while we rummage around inside. We ordered some nifty little baskets from Amazon that fit inside the cabinet well to keep the bottles and other contents standing when we travel (we hope, have not tested them yet). They are called "Creative Storage Drawers" by Vanorig and they come in 8 bright colors. The set has 3 larger baskets that are 12 X 4.8 X 2" that fit inside the cabinet and one smaller basket that is 12 X 3 X 2" that fits in the shelf below the cabinet. We were happy to find them with the correct dimensions and wanted to share the info with others.

I also use my head to keep the door open. Did you ever add the gas shocks?

I put a spring boat hatch "hold open" support from a marine supplier on the far left corner of the mirror door in Pete, our 27fb.
It works very well, automatically holding open the mirrored door when you open it, and then you just reach up and bend the spring in the middle to close.
Hope this helps.

Do you have a queen or twin beds? I have a terrible time lifting up the mattress to reach storage underneath. What experience do you have with that?

We have a 2017 FC27FB and we installed this lid support: Sugatsune, Lamp NSDX-35LK Lid Stays. I got it on Amazon. Works great.

Is the left side support easier to use than the right one?

Wonderful idea. Let me know if you find a good container for the cabinet above the fridge.

The left side on our cabinet doesn't have the magnetic catch and this gave the room needed to install the lid stay.

Thanks for the great idea. I just ordered one too. So much better than holding it up with my head.

I sorry it's a late welcome to the forum message bltampa. Hopefully you read this, and make more posts on this great forum. Anyone have pictures of organized cabinets, minus the personnel items?.... I know, the medicine cabinet is all personnel

We did install a support for the mirror, added dividers in the mirrored cabinet. We tried several dividers and baskets on the little shelf but it was still not serving much purpose. We took it out and installed 6 circular wire baskets and a rectangular basket (all from Ikea) one in the middle for brushes. This is a shelf installed on a false aluminum wall in front of the real wall to keep it level. It turned out great. I took some photos and will send as soon as I figure out how.

I installed mine today, a little bit of a learning curve but all is well and working nicely. Just need to keep an eye on the screws as it looks they could loosen over time and bounces. Thanks for this tip.

On my '07 20' I silicone glued clear plastic corner guards on the front of the shelves to act as a lip to keep things from falling out. It worked well.

Here is the photo of the change in our bathroom shelf to this arrangement. All baskets were purchased at Ikea.
