I just went to the Airstream web site store to get a small keychain. The chain was $6.94 plus tax. The shipping was $15.15. $15.15 for a small key chain that could be dropped in a small padded envelope but had to be shipped UPS.
I passed on that deal. I know handling is involved but come on. Guess I will continue to used plain old ring.

We picked up a very nice stainless steel key ring at REI for less. It is also a bottle opener. We're good.

Is it the fob with the blue plastic body? Those are less than $1.50 at many dealers and various parts houses. I bought a box and give them as gifts. Paid less than $20 for however many are in a box.

JC is certainly very proud of their shipping cost. Pads their profit margin.

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."

Actually, the answer is very simple. Two Airstream keychains came "free" with my Airstream. Buy a new Airstream, get a new keychain. Life just doesn't get much better than that!

The goal is to inspire you to want to buy $700 worth of stainless outdoor panel upgrades so the shipping of the keychain becomes inconsequential with all the other stuff you're getting 😀

I don't know if I still have the crappy keyring that came with the trailer but if I find it, I'll be glad to mail it to you at my own cost just for giggles!

Now I DID buy a sweet keyring while having work done at the mothership and I use that for my spares - saved a ton in postage and only had to spend 4 days driving (2 out, 2 back), a few hunge in diesel and several grand having an emergency exit door installed...I think I made out pretty well! 😂😂
