It's fun standing out of the crowd

This is actually our first trip in our new Airstream not counting bringing it home from Mississippi to California and we're parked at a very, very nice park in Red Bluff, CA.

Lots of class "A"s or as I call them Greyhound busses

It's very nice to be sitting in, what I consider, the best looking RV in the park.

The one comment I got on my brand new 2012 A/S was "did you wax it yourself?" People just assume an Airstream must be old and I made it look this new.

Personally I'm hoping it looks this way for a very long time!

Congratulations on your new beauty! If we all wanted to blend in we would have bought any ordinary white box, there certainly lot's of them to choose from! But isn't it great the one that stands out in the crowd? Get used to the attention, it doesn't go away.
Have fun, and we hope to see you on the road someday.

And may it never stop!
It's a great feeling, for sure. Seems most of the curious always show up when I'm setting up. Once we were pulling in to our site, truck still running, wheels just barely stopped, some folks walked up, wanted to see inside. We obligized them of course. Comes with the territory, & we love it.
Hope you have many, many safe & happy travels.

There is a definite mystique that they bring. Ours is 27 years old, we like to sit in the parks and guess which landfills the box trailers will be in in 27 years. (: I know, I am an Airstream snob. But I am comfortable in that role! (chuckle)
Enjoy!

Yeah, get used to the admiring glances. Many people will want to look but are too shy to ask.

We get asked to "peek inside" all the time. It's funny, but we don't mind. The reactions is always the same..."Wow...this is gorgeous!" And we say, "Yes, it is." (Of course this means we have to keep the Bambi "presentable" at all times, but that's a good thing, since if we don't put stuff away when we're done with it, soon we can't move.)

We have a t-shirt that has a picture of a Bambi just light ours, and a caption that says, "Yes, they still make them!" I like to wear that the first day we are in a new place.

Even kids know the differance.
A kid came up to my daughter down by the water in Freeport Maine and asked " are you guys in that really shinny silver camper?" she said "yup" and just smiled.

So true !
Cannot let yourself go, as someone always must see the inside.

To date almost every trip we have taken, someone has stopped by to make a comment about the silver, asked questions, or wanted to see inside. Needless to say we love to tell our story about how we came to have an AS. And to tell them that we love the trailer.

Even if they didn't look that wouldn't matter because I love looking at my AS wherever it may be; in the driveway, in the wilderness - anywhere!

But what I really love best is glancing in my rear-view mirror, and seeing the FAN happily bobbing along behind me.

I have one regret: Why didn't I do this ten years ago!!!!

Happy trails xorider!

When I see a trailer with 3 or 4 or 5 or more of the red WB stars across the front, I think to myself what a lucky dude this guy is. A those places, all the people. May we ALL be so fortunate!

Educate the newbie. What do the stars mean?
