Smile In October, we'll be official Airstreamers

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I have just taken the plunge this week and purchased (after much debate, discussion and hand wringing) a new 2012 Flying Cloud. While not officially named yet, we are calling it our "Vacation Home". We have been admirers from afar for many years, but have decided to dive in! We all love to travel and look forward to MANY adventures in our new trailer! We travel to Portland, OR to pick it up in October! It's so exciting, and I just had to tell someone!

If anyone has any tips for trailer travel near Newport, OR, Humboldt Forest Or Disneyland.... let me know!

I've been enjoying all reading the posts on this great forum for months! What a great group of people

I'm on my second one after camping since 1970 and having everything but an Airstream. You'll love the experience and who knows, if we get enough aluminum on the road we might reverse global warming.

WOW, this is great! You guys are going to have a blast. What wonderful memories you'll be making for that young lady, too. Lin and I have only had ours for just over a year, and we can't wait for the next trip while sitting here at home.

Disneyland.

Hi, this isn't much information, but there is a good sized camp ground within walking distance of Disneyland in Anaheim. [by Harbor Blvd and Ball road]

We haven't stayed at this RV resort near Disneyland, but it has excellent reviews on TripAdvisor:

Anaheim Resort RV Park, Disneyland Camping, Orange County

Anaheim Resort RV Park (Anaheim, CA) - Campground Reviews - TripAdvisor

Last time we took our granddaughters, we stayed at a hotel; but this makes me want to take them back and stay in our Bambi.

Love your signature Bob! Silver Castle indeed!

I just booked the Anaheim Resort RV Park! it looks perfect! There are so many things to look forward to!

I'm in the process of going through my cabinets and making a pile of stuff to load up in the truck for our "operation Airstream acquisition" trip!

Congrats!

In Humboldt, we like going to the Benbow RV Park in Garberville. Nice park with a gorgeous swimming pool and right at the southern entrance to the Avenue of the Giants and some of the greatest redwoods. The thing about Benbow is that it is hot - usually 90s in the summer, whereas the redwoods farther north will be in cooler areas - like 60s. From the park, the Avenue of the Giants is just a 10 minute drive. It is a bit pricey though at $50.

Newport - there are SO MANY places to camp on the Oregon coast that really the best idea is simply to drive along until you see the one you like. We did 3 weeks along the Oregon coast this past summer and were totally impressed with the Oregon Park system.

Happy Trails.
