At a recent rally I ran into a fellow who just purchased a 30 footer. He said he thought he would start out where everybody else ended up. In the long run he will save money by not loosing out in selling or trading in a shorter one.

Funny, but true for many folks. We went from 31' to 28' back to a 30'. May or may not be our last.

Im noticing quite a few folks going back down from a 30 to smaller. Im considering going up to either a 28 or 30 and am a bit concerned it will be overwhelming and possibly limit/hinder my camping options dont want to always be stuck in a campground.

You won't be noticing me going from 30 to something smaller- but if they ever start making the 34 again...

Our Bambi is usually the smallest one at the Airforums rallys that we've been to. It's not unusual, during the trailer tours that always take place, to hear comments from people who travel as couples, on how they think a smaller trailer might get them out on the road more, and how it might be less expensive to tow. For more than two, though-even children-a 19 or 20 may not be enough. Small dogs shouldn't be a problem, though, as they would usually be on a dinette seat or the bed. Under the dinette would be a good spot for a small dog bed.

Funny Since I wrote this our research has taken us a very different route. We followed all the advice and decided that we should be getting a 25fc..... It seems like the perfect size, and might seem funny but the dogs didn't really have any place to walk around a small one like the 16....and on a rainy day that would be really bad..... , specially because we just rescued a 2nd dog, around 1yr old, very hyper! Thank y'all for the advice!

You won't be sorry. We have 2 Samoyeds, a Sheltie and a cat. We had a 20FC before we got the 2nd Samoyed and love the move to the 25ft. It tows easier, backs easier and each dog has found his spot. Of course the cat goes wherever she wants.
