a newer model 20' airstream weights about 4000lbs and will carrry almost another 1000lbs of cargo...according to toyota's web page the v6 highlander's max tow capacity is 5000lbs...you probably should be considering a tv with a greater towing capacity

Thanks!!!!! This bed is from Bed, bath and beyond. Its an Orthopedic Pet Bed. She has several beds, from cheap to very fancy and this is her favorite. This doggie is 13 years old so this is specially good for older dogs.

Thanks for the info! I have an older dog with hip dysplasia, and she has several beds too. But I'm looking to replace her old orthopedic bolster bed with a new one.

Yes, my husband always kids me about all the beds our dog has! She even has one in the truck and one in the Airstream that matches our decor. I can't help it

CampingDogs, I'm thrilled that you are interested in owning an Airstream. It's surprising to me how many people share this dream. In reference to storage, Airstream actually does not suggest keeping the unit covered (Garaged, shelter, etc). The aluminum is durable enough to withstand Hurricane 5 elements. You need to wash it routinely and wax it once a year.
For new owners, I like to suggest going new. On 16' and 22' units, there aren't really large margins and they are two of the most popular floor plans available. The demand on those two sizes are so high, you're liable to come out even if you decide to sell in a few years.
Private message me if you want more of my input...:-)

Thanks.... We are researching and researching and keep coming back to the Airstream, I feel like a child who wants a toy 😄. We are going to the dealer on July so will let u know when I finally see one in person (16 & 22 sport) I guess I am just concerned on costs.... Even after purchasing it, costs on maintanence, storage, fuel and usage of the trailer. Im kinda frugal 😊 but then again I' am willing to pay for quality and Probably the fact that this trailer will last forever....

Trailer Length
We have owned a 23 foot airstream for well over 25 years and used it camping and traveling many places. However, this winter we decided to do the "go south thing" and spent 6 weeks traveling through AZ and NM as well as the States between Idaho and AZ.
Let me tell you, 6 weeks in a 23 foot trailer is a trial. We are now shopping for a 34' trailer but would consider something a little smaller. What with making the bed each night, crawling over one another getting in and out of bed, and other minor inconveniences, we think larger is better. While I have pulled trailers of all sizes all over the western United States, I would admit that longer may be a little more cumbersome, we have decided that the length and comfort will far exceed any problems we will incur.
Yes, I think each owner should look over the sizes for her/his/their needs but if you plan to live in the trailer for any extended length of time, we believe longer is better.

We discovered issues for us in the 2013 25FB design and migrated within nine months to the 2014 Classic design. Nothing but smiles now. Quality issues were in the 25FB and are also in the Classic.
Answers to many of the quality issue questions have appeared here in the forum.
Good luck in your research.

We've happily camped for 6 weeks at a pop in a 16-footer. We do take the dinette table down at night for a second bed, to avoid the who-crawls-over-whom issue with the east-west bed. We also have a rule that if one person is up doing something, like cooking or washing-up, the other person is either sitting quietly or doing something outside.
Living in a small space with another person is really a question of organizing how you function in it.
One wonders how campers in A-chalets, Scamps and Casitas manage their logistics for months at a time. We've met couples who spend 3 months in their trailerettes.
We tent-camped for many years, so the Bambi seems downright spacious.

We are headed out next month in our 25 ft FC with our two dogs. We will be gone for 6 weeks. It should be interesting but the FC does feel spacious to us considering we have always camped in tents, pop ups, or our friends' SOB. We are excited! Oh, and BTW, Groupon has a special on dog beds right now. Just bought two large orthopedic dog beds for $25.00 each. )

I have been researching and looking at Airstreams for a few months now. I was amazed from the beginning just how many people have them because their furry family members can travel in comfort with their owners. It is just myself, my wife, and a 45lb. dog, and we always take the dog when we look at Airstreams. Right off the bat I noted that when we viewed a trailer and leave the dog tied outside, she goes nuts. She wants to be in the trailer with us! When untied, she just jumps in like she owns it! There must be something about pets that love the small size of a trailer especially when their owners are inside.

One of our dogs is afraid of EVERYTHING new so we made a plan to complete her adjustment before we left on our trip. It took her a second to figure out the steps but she was the first one in! No nerves whatsoever!
