So what are the fifty landmarks? The map doesn't really say what they are, just where they are. Some are obvious enough, but others aren't, at least to me.

Oh, yes. That definitely helps, thanks. Turns out I've only been to four of them so far.

Think I posted this same thing awhile ago: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...rs-121204.html
Albeit differently. I do like his concept.

Altogether, it's a pleasant 6,813 mile drive, starting at South Berwick, Maine and ending in Taft, Montana, and passing, if ever so briefly, through each of the remaining Lower 48 states and the District of Columbia.
Average 55 mph with stops, swap in fresh drivers as necessary, and you’ll traverse every member of the contiguous U.S. in just under 124 hours.
To complete the fifty, you’ll need to bag Alaska and Hawaii. Curb the truck at Spokane and fly a three-legged loop to Honolulu, Anchorage, and back, which adds about 36 hours, including layovers, for a total travel time of:
Just under one week: 160 hours, or 3.2 hours per state.
Just incase anyone ever wondered.

The article states: "Olson set out to find the quickest driving route that would stop at a national natural landmark, national historic site, national park or national monument in all of the lower 48 states. He also included Washington, D.C. and added another stop in California to get to a total of 50 stops."
It wouldn't be my ideal choice as obviously there are many states with SEVERAL national landmarks/historic sites/parks, not to mention good RV parks. However, what I found interesting it does go to 48 states in a relatively quick way. Kind of ridiculous to do all 48 states in 9.3 days, but it's a starter for a 3 year streaming plan!

I wonder that Delaware, USA is listed as one of the landmarks. I used to live there, and while it was a very nice place to live, I don't think the entire state qualified as a national landmark !!
