How to store a full-size flag pole?

I have a yard size flag pole that I'd like to carry under the AS. It collapses to 6 ft long x 4" dia. The Valterra sewer hose carrier looks as if it would work, but before I go that direction I thought I'd check to see if there's an better answer that doesn't contain the word "sewer?"

Thanks,

Rod

Hose carrier, bumper compartment, on the floor or in a cabinet inside the trailer, bed or rear compartment of TV. Basically wherever it will fit and be out of the way.

Airstream makes flagpole carriers purpose built for this sort of thing. (Because so many WBCCI people carry flags). I haven't seen them listed in the catalogs though, so you need to call and inquire.

Howdy! we don't even use the sewer hose storage feature... we store the hose in the rear tray.

So, how about another PVC pipe under the AS? You can mount forward of the "sewer" storage... If you make it out of aluminum ... that would be cool.

The PVC doesn't cost too much... and you can use caps for sealing.

Of course you can get a genuine Airstream replacement and mount it forward of the existing one..

Yep I use the sewer hose pvc compartment for my 3 flag poles except we call it the flag pole holder. Painted the ends gray to match the trailer. It's mounted foward of the sewer hose tube.

IiRC the Airstream sewer hose carriers are only 4' deep and the telescoping flag poles are longer. A PVC pipe would be better cut to the needed length.

I have one from Camping World. It comes in a nylon case and is about that length. Since the flagpole is one of the first things to be used (my unit has a plate that is positioned either under the wheel or under the tongue foot) and is the last to be packed, I just put it on the bed. It rides against the wall and is out of the way quickly when I set up. I don't see any reason to put more things under the trailer to drag on high ground when in non-level areas. Your mileage may vary.

I sometimes carry an antenna pole and 6' J-pole antenna, that is about what you describe only a little thinner maybe. Carried behind the backrest of the gaucho.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking I'll rearrange my bumper compartment and stow the pole in there. Alternately, underbelly in a PVC tube.
