Brought back memories of when we visited the factory and took the tour several years ago. I've been told since then that frames only show up one day per week. Don't know if that is true, or if it is the same day each week. Probably varies with how many coaches are in line at the time.

Am I wrong, or did it look like they were putting aluminum sheet on the floor after bringing the frame into the shop?

If so, when did that start?!

Brian.

Frame upside down with axles up. Looks like the belly pan installation. Pat

I took the tour with Don yesterday. They no longer make cuts for door etc by hand. They have two new computerized jig type machines. They cut all holes but leave them attached a little. Then they punch out the piece when needed. Also no longer two lines for finishing up, they put each trailer on a dolly and line them up side by side, reason is they can work on more at one time. Trailers are made in order of dated order, so a 16 can be next to a Classic next to one for Europe, next to a 25. Does not matter. I have a huge respect for the price of an airstream now that we saw them being made in person, there is a ton of work, parts and rivets in an AS. Very cool tour. 800 workers now, 80 AS a week being made with 1300 backlog. 40 bays for repair work. A busy place
