Names? NAMES? We bought our AS a couple of months ago and I've been trying to come up with a fitting name ever since. While I haven't settled on one as of yet, I will share some of the names I've considered.

First, I thought of the name Aluminati but it's not really a fitting trailer name. Now it is a fitting name for the 5 rivet members here who so graciously share their time and knowledge.

Then there was Tiny Tin but I have a 29' so that doesn't really work.

Then there was A Road Awakening. I thought that was cuter than my wife did.

Then there's Roadhouse. Of course, you could put any name in front of that (e.g., John's Roadhouse).

You could also base it off of a song. Life is a Highway sounds fitting. I like John Lee Petimore III which is an obscure reference to the protagonist in Copperhead Road. The Road Goes On Forever but the Party Never Ends might be a bit of a mouthful but I like it.

Still haven't settled on one so we'll see what else pops up.

Thanks for this info. How do you go about registering a name with Airstream? Terry

Great name! My wife is a native Charlestonian. She initially wanted to name our AS "Carolina Dream'n". I thought that was also a good one.

Carolina Clipper is a good one, especially considering your geographic origins.

We chose “Lola” from the Buffett song Frank and Lola. The song talks about their second honeymoon in Pensacola trying to find a little privacy.

Yea names can be a little silly but it’s fun and hey, we own an airstream so we like to have fun.

No charge for the plate or the certificate that comes with it. And, you know that - at least "officially" - no one else can use that name.

Our trailer plate is fixed next to the entry door; our AI plate is fixed next to the sliding door. They look cool.
Eddie's plate is on the entry bulkhead as well ... very nifty, but NOT cute !

Our trailer name is Yertle, a combination of turtle and yurt. I registered it as a State if Colorado vanity license plate number. Very visible and gets lots of comments.

We named ours "Easy." With the Equalizer hitch, and only 19-feet to tow, our AS set-up is the easiest camping system we have ever had. We have owned two box trailers. D

Our name came easy - since the AS happens to be a 2004 International 25 CCD with the "Blue Streak" interior it just seemed to fit

And we have Registered the Name

After a year of thinking of a name, it hit me when I was thinking of a lost loved one. My wife’s Grandmother Ima; it just had a ring to it and was fun thinking of her and the cute comments. Ima wanting to go camping or Ima working on the Airstream.

Don’t over think it and it’ll come to you. It’s about the journey.

Easy

After owning other trailers, the name “Easy” simply exemplifies our Airstream experience. D&N

Have an old 83 Ford names Stella. Full name Stella Goodtruck. Get it. Still a good truck. I know, I should go straight to pun jail for that one but I cannot help myself. My Chevy truck was Henry Longfellow. Obviously a long bed. Lol.

“Lenora” is actually named after my Mom. She called me up one Day exclaiming the neighbor was selling an Airstream and I should buy it so I would have a place when I would travel to visit her. She loved the Airstream. After her passing it just seemed like the perfect thing to do. I sewed this little pillow using the font “airstream “.

I worked for the railroad for 34 years and have a life long interest in railroads in general. A famous streamliner that ran (still does, actually, under Amtrak) between New York and Miami was called the Silver Meteor. We thought it was a fitting name for our Silver home on wheels, especially since we planned to move from New York to South Florida when we retired (which we did late last year).

The image on the rear window is the same as the lighted train name sign that was on the rear car of the train back when railroads cared about good publicity for their premium passenger trains.
